VHS : Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club was the kind of movie I loved as a teenager.
I went back and watched it and absolutely hated it.
Whine, whine, whine.
Does anyone in this move do anything but whine?
Like any kids would act like this in detention.
Kids have their stupid clicks and I can't imagine a group of kids coming together for a group therapy session like they do in this movie.
It's 80's memories, yes.
So, if you've never seen it, go rent it.
I can't stand to ... Read More:

I am a die hard Michael Jackson fan and anybody whom is in love with Micahel as much as I am needs to buy this movie. He is truely a great entertainer and a brilliant performer/actor. Very good story, GREAT MUSIC SEQUENCES, classic Michael Jackson at his greatest!I mean, what else could you ask for? He was the hero in this movie and is my hero in real life. Even with all the alligations ... Read More:

As someone who grew up in Kenya in the 50s and 60s, I can attest to the fact that this film captures the feel and the spirit of colonial Kenya better than any other film ever made. The characterizations are excellent, and the story is both entirely believable and captures the nature of colonialism without being judgemental. The little boy in the lead role does an excellent job - you can fully empathize with him - and the late Bob Peck is, as ever, superb in the role of the local head of the police. More explanation was needed ... Read More:

But plays well. The back has a near puncture hole in it. I'm glad I wasn't giving it as a gift... would have looked like I really skimped.

VHS : Yellow Submarine
Next to "A Hard Day's Night", this is my favorite Beatle movie. I thoroughly enjoyed Yellow Submarine when it came out in 1968. I purchased a VHS copy when it first came out in an affordable edition. I wanted to upgrade my tape to DVD. But, c'mon fellas, $25 for a 40-year-old animated film by Peter Max?

This DVD better come with blotter acid & a Nehru jacket from Carnaby street! Oh, and if I have my choice of surviving Beatle to deliver the disc, send Ringo! He knows "It don't come easy"!

VHS : 200 Motels
If you know nothing about this movie, there are a few facts you should be aware of before watching that help mitigate the usual hatred this movie elicits:

1) It had a budget of $700,000. Of that, $400,000 went directly to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, so effectively this movie had a budget of $300,000.

2) It had a shooting schedule of five 8-hour days.

Given these two tourniquet-like limitations, it is amazing that Zappa got ANYTHING done, let alone this final product. A good companion piece ... Read More:

VHS : AC/DC - Let There Be Rock
"Back in Black" not withstanding, AC/DC have never even come close to equaling what they produced when Bon Scott was alive. And from their beginning to the final Scott album, the classic "Highway to Hell", they just seemed to get better and better! And here we have an entire concert from that tour, filmed in Paris, which shows them at their absolute peak and includes backstage and interview documentary footage!

And, on top of all that, it's quite simply one of the GREATEST Rock and Roll concert films ever made...so WHERE'S THE DVD?!?!? ... Read More:
