| The past several years definitely haven't brought so much feeling to classic R&B music. It has really been more about acts that have been about looks and the way that they dance like Ciara, Ashanti, and Usher to name a few. Nevertheless, it is very sad that there really isn't as much diversity. It sometimes makes me feel more interested in classic music from soul greats like Stevie Wonder. | Being a die hard EJ'ER: I was REALLY happy to see most of this Docu as it borrows heavily from the ABC broadcast of "EJ & BT say Goodbye Norma Jean & other Things" during the zenith of EJ Mania! It's a bittersweet tribute to 1 of the BEST LPS ever made (IMOP!) because Dee, Gus & others are'nt with us anymore & we can never relive that moment in time. | Very informative and enjoyable piece. Made me enjoy the album even more, given the fresh insights from the players. Neat bits with Herbie Flowers (bass), Ken Scott (engineer), and others, including Lou, of course. Reed seemed quite human, approachable, and humble. Only brief snippets of interviews with Bowie. A special treat was the chance to see some brief interview clips with Mick Ronson and to hear Lou talk about him. I want an entire DVD of Mick!
Well worth a watch or three. |

| This is a 75-minute documentary about the band in its heyday w/ lots of Haight-Ashbury footage. Interviews with bandmembers (Lesh, Weir, Garcia, Hart, & others) plus Hunter, their lyricist. I thought it did a great job of capturing what was special about the Dead: how they came up with their music and what their experiences were while making it. |

| I always wondered why he decided to do this album, how it came about. This is a setting in which Paul Simon honestly speaks about the details of the album and it's a very good look into his creative process. You get to see his lyric writing method and how he worked with South African musicians. | I recently purchased this DVD thinking that I probably owned half the footage on it already, but the price was right, and I figured it might have a clip or two I hadn't seen before. From the conception of many of the songs to how they became layered, completed mixes, I love hearing each songwriter's story.
