VHS : 12 Angry Men
'57 is a classic par excellence, but '97 does offer some interesting new features. I use both of the films as a means of processing a vast array of psychological concepts while working with first and second year college students. When I first stop the '97 version, I ask students if they heard anything at the onset of the film. There is a clever insertion of the line, "I'm gonna' kill you," as the sound track presents us with noise of a passing El train. Many of my students can't identify what ... Read More:

Other reviews are right on the money. Brinks got kicked in the teeth cause they let their guard down. Some petty operators were able to boost the money becuase Brinks relied on their big name and past success to intimidate would-be crooks. I heard these guys lived on the money the rest of their lives without showing off. The film is great and the times are captured flawlessly in the sets and the language.

The movie was everything it was advertised to be. I would buy more products like this one anyday.

VHS : The Exorcist: 25th Anniversary edition
OK, you've all seen this classic unless you've been living on Mars since 1973. And don't bother even watching, much less purchasing any of the sequels. But this slightly extended version attempts to add a few more minutes to elaborate on Linda Blair's central Regan teenage character before she "involuntarily spirals down" into complete possession. After all, the primary viewer empathy should have always been on Regan and viewer association with the Chris MacNeil character. But instead, the director spent too ... Read More:

VHS : Rampage
"Rampage" is a strange movie: it tells a small but nasty story of Charles Edgar Reece, a deranged young man on a killing spree, and the long courtroom battles that follow his arrest. What's so strange is that the movie seems awfully directed, even dull at times, more like a quicky or a routinely made-for-cable TV film. But its director is no one less than William Friedkin, the man who made such powerful films like "The French Connection", "The Excorsist" and "Sorcerer". Three movies which all had a lasting effect on its viewers. ... Read More:

VHS : Guardian (1990)

I saw this movie in the 90's on TV. It's a very stilish horror fantasy, by far superior to "Cat People" (1982). Good story, great performances of Jenny Seagrove and Dwier Brown and astonishing visuals.
One of the main elements of this movie was the ill atmosphere, the mistery that was surrounding the entire plot, which reminded me of Stephen King's "Sleepwalkers" (1992).
Another good element that increased the gore and the suspense was the fact that we do know nothing about the origins of this ancient supernatural force.

VHS : Jade (Unrated Version)
Jade is a brilliant film. William Fredkin has a done wonderful job with this sexually charged thriller. The cinematography during the car chase is awe insprining and the sex scenes are kinky and tastefully done. Linda Forentiono and Angie Everhart who both have great bodies make the film even better. The reason I like this movie is because of David Caurso he displays some of his best acting on screen, very similiar to the NYPD Blue days.

The region 1 DVD version has no additional extras to the VHS one described. Good to see an earlier effort of Antonio's though. The plot does drag on slightly and having the same family move house twice within six months seems a bit far fetched. The only reason I was saw this movie for a second time was that it was due for UK transmission by BBC on Monday 24 March, then was postponed to Friday 4 April due to Iraq news. This transmission has also been postponed giving no further air date. Save your money and look out for the show on BBC1 listings in UK. Around 23.30 ... Read More:

VHS : Boys in the Band
This is truly one of the great plays/films of all time. The bonus features are wonderful except for the commentary by William Friedkin. Friedkin is not watching the film thus not giving the viewer insight to what we are viewing. In fact, some of the words from Friedkin are already in other parts of the DVD. Too bad, it would have been an over the top release if this had not been done in this fashion. (It's also a little boring.) Also, Cliff Gorman's year of birth is incorrect. It is 1936 not 1926.
