VHS : Follow the Sun: The Ben Hogan Story
Being a golfer and a fan of the sport for many years, I was very interested in seeing this, which I did when the VHS first came out. Later, I saw it again because of the same reason plus I usually find Glenn Ford's films entertaining.

Well, the story moves well, it didn't bore me, but I did have problems with the accuracy of it and the general theme of the film, telling us that Hogan really was a nice guy who cared lot about what the public thought. From every account I have read, and ... Read More:

I expected more from a B. Hope movie, but this one delivers a lot less. Fans of Bob will be disapointed.

3.Sorrowful Jones starring: Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, William Demarest, Bruce Cabot, Thomas Gomez

Its the type of movie that you cry and laugh with. Bob Hope being serious, something you don't see very often. Just shows what a great actor he could be. Put him and Lucy together makes for a great movie. I love the Damon Runyon type movies. If you haven't seen The Lemon Drop Kid, its good also. Get the puffs out, you'll need them.

VHS : One in a Million
I'm not really that big a fan of Sonja Henie's skating. Rather, it's her fresh-faced screen presence which I find so engaging. Sonja Henie was a Norwegian skating darling who won the figure skating gold medal in the 1928, 1932, and 1936 Olympics. In 1936, she successfully transitioned from skating into film acting with the delightful ONE IN A MILLION. Off the top of my head, the only other woman athlete who managed to finagle her sports stardom into a lucrative film career is gorgeous swimmer Esther Williams ... Read More:

This movie isn't terribly accurate as to actual Boot Camp life, but it was filmed at Great Lakes Naval Station about 10 years before I was stationed there in 1962-3. The barracks, the furnishings, everything in the background shots look just the way they did when I was there. I thoroughly enjoy this movie everytime I watch it just for the memories!

I remember watching this film when i was 9 or 10 back in the late 50's or early 60's after mt father went to work and my mom was asleep. There have been three or four spin offs to this great film that don't even come close.I don't no for sure but it seems that they left something out of this makeover. It doesn't matter this is a five star movie, that i rated four because i was stupid and hit the four star and it won't let me change me it.

7.Second Fiddle starring: Sonja Henie, Tyrone Power, Rudy Vallee, Edna May Oliver, Mary Healy

VHS : Second Fiddle
Okay, Sonia Henie may not be the best actress ever, but I think she does a plenty adequate job here. After all, she's playing a midwest school teacher who is caught unawares that she has been entered into a nation-wide talent search for "The Girl of the North". Given this is the role she's playing, the role of a school teacher who is suddenly thrust into the limelight, what kind of acting experience do you need? I felt her portrayal was realistic! I mean, one day you're a school teacher, the next day, your acting in movies? ... Read More:

If you appreciate, Fred Astaire, You will really enjoy this movie . There are stunning dance scenes with Astaire & Rita Hayworth that are exciting as well as equisite. The plot is often very humorous & takes place on an Army base during WWII..It is a very enjoyable film to watch and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys fabulous dancing & the era of the 40's.

9.Thin Ice starring: Sonja Henie, Tyrone Power, Arthur Treacher, Raymond Walburn, Joan Davis

VHS : Thin Ice
After One in a Million 1936, Sonja Henie was fast becoming a Hollywood star in the front rank. In THIN ICE she is teamed with her then-boyfriend Tyrone Power and the chemistry is explosive... It`s a Cinderella-story, but given the full treatment by 20th Century-Fox - it`s almost like an MGM extravaganza :-)

The skating is good and Joan Davis as a comedy relief is a winner. As a matter of fact I can`t understand the fuzz they make about the Astaire&Rogers musicals over at RKO... I much more prefer the Sonja Henie`s at 20th Century-Fox... ... Read More:

VHS : The Princess and the Pirate
Like people have said in their reviews, there is some print quality issues, but this is a classic Bob Hope film, right up there with the classic "Road Too..." films!!! I guess that MGM doesn't want to fully restore this one right now,its still better than cheapie public domain prints, well a little better anyway!!! Remember,to fully restore a film properly is very costly!!! I got this one brand new at retail store for only $3.99+tax,not a bad deal at all, since I've paid more for cheapie no-name DVD's in the past!!! Five stars anyway,an absolute classic pirate ...
