I love this movie,is one of tom cruise best films,i was realy surprised that some people call this film trash,i wonder what see now when almost everything aut there is realy trash.Hollywood in the 80s was not a factory,like it is now. |

| There are many things to admire in this well-ventilated political thriller. And some flaws, like Kevin Costner's New England accent. But I watch it all the time and I have only one criticism. | I thought this was a good movie but I thought it was better when I found out someone I knew through my brother-in-law was in it. Robin Williams daughter in the movie,the guy who played her boyfriend. Vinny Capone is a great guy and I hope to see him in more films and not just as a stunt guy, which he does now. |

| This was alright. If you have nothing else better to watch, this will pass the time quite adequately. This film came out at the height of the Hollywood Studios all taking advantage of the sudden interest in disaster movies, probably because special effects and visual effects were beginning to take off and they all wanted to experiment and the audience all wanted to see those things, or was just in the mood for cliched overly hyped entertainment with no heart or mind.
