| I've loved this movie since I was very young and was so happy when I could buy it on DVD for such a cheap price! I love the music and the story but what I loved about this version is the reunion of all of the actors and actress' still around in 2005! Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, Charmain Carr, Nicholas Hammond, Heather Menzies, Duane Chase, Angela Cartwright, Debbie Turner and Kym Karath.

| Based on Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet and set in modern New York with rival gangs. This is a great musical! Bernstein's score is a masterpiece of vocal and instrumental arrangements! The sets are a masterpiece of colour and design! The dancing is glorious! The singing is passionate! And it has a raw yet romantic feel. The director has captured a unique and surreal world and has created what I consider the most extraordinary dramatic musical ever made!

| In general, I don't like Emilio Estevez's brat pack films, but this isn't about brat pack. Along with Maximum Overdrive, he plays the hero/antihero role well. Most Americans could identify with the economic problems facing the farmers who John Wisdom was trying to help. | Susan Hayward won the Academy Award in 1958 for her performance of a woman on death row. Probably the best thing Hayward ever did, one gets the sense that her character is wrongly accused of murder. The story and plot move at a great pace, and all the performances are strong. Direction is also superb. A great way to spend a Sunday afternoon watching an Oscar performance in the making. The film comes in widescreen and the only extras are the trailer. Highly recommended. |

| I decided to watch "Two for the Seesaw" because it starred Robert Mitchum and I must say that this is one of his better movies. His strong, forceful "man in control" persona comes through very well. Unfortunately, that's the major problem I had with "Two for the Seesaw" because the lead male role calls, in my opinion, for a more bewildered man.
