VHS : Chaplin
In the hands of director Richard Attenborough, Charlie Chaplin's life story becomes a sweeping and touching drama. Robert Downey, Jr. gives an unforgettable performance as Chaplin, who rose from the slums of London to become Hollywood's favorite silent movie character, the Tramp. Along the way, Charlie had to deal with his mother's insanity, his love affairs, marriages, and a paternity scandal, all involving much younger women, and investigation by none other than J. Edgar Hoover.

This very entertaining story ... Read More:

VHS : Chorus Line
A Chorus Line allows us to watch as a director (Michael Douglas) selects the men and women he wants in the chorus of a play he will direct. He asks the people who have come to try out to tell him something about themselves, since members of the chorus will have bit parts in the play. Among those trying out are a married couple, a woman who has acted for the Douglas character before, a young man involved in gay theater without his family's knowledge, and one of the great loves of the director's life.

While it's difficult ... Read More:

VHS : Young Winston
Young Winston is the story of Winston Churchill. It begins with him being sent off to school at about six, but spends much of its time with him as a young officer in the British Army. The best part to me was the episode during the Boar where he was captured and then escaped. I've been to the spot where he was captured and it was rendered very well in the movie. Indeed it was to see this event that I bought the movie and I was not dissappointed.

Although he had a craving for publicity and perhaps over stated his own abilities, ... Read More:

If you just take the movie on its own terms, its own of the sweetest, finest movies you will find. You don't need to be an environmentalist or a native americanist to appreciate this wonderful movie. Just being human will do.

6.In Love and War (1996) starring: Sandra Bullock, Chris O'Donnell, Mackenzie Astin, Margot Steinberg, Alan Bennett
directed by: Richard Attenborough

VHS : In Love and War (1996)
In Love and War is a sweet romantic drama but there are some flaws in this epic love story. Sandra Bullock and Chris O'Donnell have wonderful and natural chemistry but the story seems inaccurate and forced. O'Donnell plays doomed writer Ernest Hemingway and I just felt like the part was too big for him, he tried to make it his own and he failed. Bullock saves this film, she is an unappreciated actress, good film just weak aim.

VHS : Gandhi
Gandhi was lots of fun..I love the parts where there is beatings and he
just turns the other cheek...I wish there could have been more car chases
but I think it may have taken away from the story...Gandhi was a cool dude
he was smarter than most the people he hung out with...What makes him better than Batman and other superheroes is that he was a real dude not just a guy from a cartoon story...I never figured out who his girlfriend was....maybe I missed that part...Gandhi was old school but he could have been big today..yes it was a good movie for those of us ...
