VHS : Walt Disney's True Life Adventures - The Living Desert
As a youth, I remember watching "The Wonderful World of Disney" (which, if I'm not mistaken, was later renamed "The Wonderful World of Color"). It was on every Sunday night and would feature cartoons, a serial program like "Davie Crocket: King of the Wild Frontier", or any variety of other Disney-worthy productions including a number of nature programs. I believe it was on that TV show that I first saw "The Living Desert". It won an Academy Award for Best Feature-Length Documentary in 1953.

VHS : Walt Disney's True Life Adventures: The Vanishing Prairie
I remember watching "The Wonderful World of Color" every Sunday evening waiting to see what the Disney production of the evening would be. Of course, being rather young way back then, I always looked forward to a cartoon presentation. However, I came to appreciate the all around qualty of whatever we would be treated to that evening. I also came to understand that the Disney production staff knew how to make good nature programs. I remembered "The Living Desert" and "The Vanishing Prairie" as two of their better nature films. Not ... Read More:

I saw this film several times in 1960. I can't forget it, and really want a copy for my grandchildren. I'm sure they'll like its accurate protrayal of a Jaguar's life in the jungle just as much as I do.

7.Legend of Lobo starring: Rex Allen

VHS : Legend of Lobo
However good the cinematography, the storyline, or the narration, it is the song sung by the Sons of the Pioneers I remember best. Of course it has been too long for me to remember the words, but the song was sung in snatches throughout the movie and complemented Rex Allen's narration very nicely. I still have Ernest Thompson Seton's Wild Animals I have Known with stories of a crow, fox, mustang and rabbit among others. The first story is The King of Currumpaw and the basis of The Legend of Lobo. There is only one other movie I can recall ... Read More:

VHS : Disney's True Life Adventures - White Wilderness
When I was a kid, our family always looked forward to Sunday Night and "The Wonderful World of Color". It was an hour of Disney productions. Sometimes there were Disney movies in two parts, sometimes Disney serials like "The Adventures of Davy Crocket", sometimes Disney cartoons, and sometimes we'd get to see some of the fabulous Disney Nature films. I can still see the Disney movies and cartoons if I want but I really miss the Disney Nature films. I went searching and was able to purchase "White Wilderness" which focusses on animal life in the artic. ... Read More:
