| However good the cinematography, the storyline, or the narration, it is the song sung by the Sons of the Pioneers I remember best. Of course it has been too long for me to remember the words, but the song was sung in snatches throughout the movie and complemented Rex Allen's narration very nicely. I still have Ernest Thompson Seton's Wild Animals I have Known with stories of a crow, fox, mustang and rabbit among others. | I am pleased and happy that I purchased The 3rd and final movie of The Wilderness Family. It was very well done and just as entertaining as the first and second movie. My favorite was the 2nd episode mostly because I love snow scenes and this one had many. I would have loved to see them carry out the beautiful music of the first two movies but other than that the movie was great. I will watch these over and over. | In my opinion, this movie was a genuine attempt to capture the resolve of the Adamsons to help Elsa's three orphaned cubs find their way in the African wilderness. Some have commented that the acting (and the actors) in this sequel to "Born Free" did not show the compassion for animals that those in "Born Free" did. I disagree. | I have been looking for good old movies from my 1960's childhood lately. Well, I had never even heard of this movie until I saw it offered here. Being an animal lover and especially fond of otters, when I saw the adorable otter on the cover I immediately ordered it.

| I was 7 or 8 years old when I first saw this movie. I loved it so much, that I immediately had my parents get me the book. This is the touching story of how Joy & George Adamson found a young lion cub that they named Elsa. (George was a game warden in Africa.) They essentially raised Elsa in Africa as a domestic pet. Nevertheless, the couple later reached a point where it was no longer feasible to keep a pet lioness.
