| i bought this dvd for my husband on oct 15. we did not have chance to watch this dvd until 28 nov. but when we started dvd player it start to make noise and on screen it shows bad disk. so i try to returned the dvd however i could not send them out because it was over 30days. it said it will play on regular dvd so we tried on 3 different player but no go. i am stock with damage dvd. is anyone could help out!

| I don't like abridged novels and films that are chopped to pieces are in the same category. This shortened version lacks the depth of the original full version film. The full version film should be considered an all time classic. |

| This film is unavailable from Block Buster or NetFlix or the library system. It is too important to be abandoned. I don't know why, if it is considered politically incorrect or too hot to handle, or what. John La Carre wrote without an agenda, showing both sides, warts and all. I plan to loan it to as many people as will watch it.

| The transfer of this film appears to be the same MPEG transfer as the one used for the DVD version. It DOES NOT appear to be a new 1080p 4k re-mastering of the film. This is not to say that it doesn't look much better in Blu-Ray than it does on DVD. But it is not, evidently, a brand new 1080p 4k transfer made expressly for Blu-Ray release. | When we viewed this movie on TV, it did not contain profanity. We purchased it because it was so funny, and we wanted to share it with our grandchildren. That will not happen. Your review should have stated not appropriate for children because of language. |

| In regards to "The Great Waldo Pepper" I agree with most of the DVD/vhs viewers: Lets re-release it widescreen!
I just watched it on a DVD I tranferred from VHS three years ago! The original VHS was recorded from the Disney Channel back in December of '05. I did notice on the end credits it was filmed in Todd-AO. This means it was done in a widescreen Cinemascope process. The only difference here is that Todd-AO is filmed at 30 frames per second - so it would be easier to transfer to DVD and a higher quality as well. ... Read More: |
