VHS : Gone with the Wind
This is the 716th review of this movie! What can I say that has not already been said about this wonderfully compelling movie? I will not comment on the restoration process or the pros and cons of buying the 2-disk or 4-disk set, as this is adequately discussed by many other reviewers. I will say that this movie won 10 Academy awards and is still regarded as the 6th best epic movie of all-time. That should be credentials enough to want to view this extraordinary movie.

VHS : My Fair Lady (digitally THX mastered)
The only problem I have with this DVD of "My Fair Lady" is that it is in letter-box format & it's too scrunched down for me to read the lips. Good thing I know the movie by heart PLUS it has "closed captioning". Other than that, my friend & I completely enjoyed the movie. It arrived SO QUICKLY & the price was SO affordable! I'll do all my Christmas shopping at Amazon!

VHS : Born Yesterday
Hollywood magic, they just don't make em like this anymore. Born Yesterday made an overnight star of Judy Holliday, when 3 days before the Broadway opening, Jean Arthur dropped out due to illness, and Holliday, on a diet of coffee and cigarettes, learned and opened in the role to rapturous reviews. The rest is history, Katherine Hepburn brought her out to Hollywood to appear in Adam's Rib, and she was a star. She did win the Oscar for re-creating her Born Yesterday role on film. And an Oscar winning role it sure ... Read More:

VHS : Little Women (1933)
The most interesting thing about the three film versions of "Little Women" is comparing them to each other or comparing each of them to Alcott's book.

What makes them so difficult to choose between is that the casting of the four title characters is the critical element, and each film featured at least one actress whose performance was clearly superior to her character's portrayal in the other two films.

This all star cast would include Jean Parker (Beth) in the 1933 version, Janet Leigh (Meg) in the 1949 version, and ... Read More:
