I love this movie. I haven't seen it in years and I am dismayed to learn that it isn't available on DVD yet. This is one of the best teen movies I have ever seen. It's sweet, honest, funny and kind.

Please release Angus on DVD soon powers that be. Thanks!

3 stars just because it's missing so much content. However, I did manage to get the entire series and burn it to a dvd so, that's at least a plus. But this VHS is missing a lot of content. Hopefully MTV releases an official DVD of The Maxx. Until then I've got a copy : )

Now that is on Broadway, do you think it will be released on DVD? I loved this movie when I was young and love this movie now. It is a good comedy but you must understand the era it was made in. I am awaiting the DVD release.

I saw this when it was first shown on US television in about 1975 and was amazed by the storyline and the acting. I had seen Chamberlain in his TV series, but this film allowed him a vast range of emotions and exercises which the Tv show did not. I had not read the novel then, of course.

Relatively, this is the video version people should watch. I videotaped it a couple of times (once the result was not so great) and watch it sporadically since. The book I read in 1989 on a commuter train between ... Read More:

Love triangle with Burt Lancaster who was injured trying to be one of the first guys to do a triple flip on the trapeze.

Tony Curtis, young gun, looks Burt up to train him to do the triple. Burt gets off the ground, and becomes Tony's "catcher'. Enter va-va-VOOM Gina Lollbrigida who is the "icing" in a mediocre tumbling act.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It's completely over the "BIG TOP", and the 3 gorgeous leads in their absolute prime look super in leotards, spangles, gitain fishing shirts and berets. ... Read More:

"Runnin' wild, lost control
Runnin' wild, mighty bold
Feelin' gay, reckless, too
Carefree mind all the time, never blue
Always goin', don't know where
Always showin', I don't care
Don't love nobody
It's not worthwhile
All alone
Runnin' wild."

The above is the lyrics to one of the songs sung by Marilyn Monroe in this classic film (directed by Billy Wilder) with an emphasis on comedy but that also has elements of romance and crime drama. ... Read More:

One of the very funny lines comes from an officer watching through binoculars as Nick Holden brings a boat load of nurses back to the sub from a bombed island: "Wow -- now that's what I call scavenging!" The officer is played by Dick Sargent, the second Darin on "Bewitched."

Matt Sherman comments that he's a little concerned about Lt. Holden's influence and recommends a little less "Wow" and a little more "Tsk Tsk."
