| Last Of The Dog Men ranks right up there with Dreamkeeper for me. This is a beautiful film to look at.With a great story and musical score. Like a great book,it grabs you from the beginning and carries you through till the end. The acting by all,is superb,as well.
How it treats the issue of this last surviving tribe is especially respectful and satisfying. Once viewed,the scenery will never be forgotten. I don't believe anyone could be disappointed in this film. |

| Where is it? I echo previous reviewers asking why this classic has not been released on DVD. A burnt-out reviewer like Terrence Rafferty (The New Yorker) pans it, but real people who do not live on Manhattan's Upper West Side see virtue in the film. I'm among them and so, happily, is Roger Ebert. | This movie to my surprise is very very good. I rarly can watch a mini-series without dozing off, but this one had me glued to my tv for about 4 hours, or more. This is a great movie, if your lucky enough to find this movie, even if its on VHS, GET IT. |

But seriously, don't watch this, unless you are fascinated by train wrecks, and enjoy seeing a movie spin totally out of control. Joe Eszterhas has recently been born again, after a bout with throat cancer he has given up tobacco, booze, writing trashy but successful scripts, and instead he's taken up the cross.
