I first saw this movie on the Hallmark channel. I can't believe it took me so long to buy it. Too bad the movies with the same characters in the series weren't as good as this one.
This is my to-go movie when the world seems overwhelming..... Great movie.....

VHS : The Wiz (1978)
This is my all time favorite movie. I recently purchased it for the younger generation and it was a hit with them as well. This movie transcends time and ages. Very entertaining with a positive message. Two thumbs up!

Director Ken Russell has never been accused of understatement, and this in-your-face character study of a jaded streetwalker is no exception. Theresa Russell chews major scenery in the lead role. The film has been misunderstood by viewers who miss the black comic undertones (I find it interesting that in 2006, no one blinks at Amy Sedaris' broad portrayal of a 42 year-old ex-hooker going back to high school on Comedy Central's "Strangers With Candy", but we still have reviewers tsk-tsking over Russell's ... VHS : Razor's Edge (1984)
One cannot help but be mesmerized by the wordcraft of Willy Maugham. Perhaps the best novel of all time is his "The Moon and Sixpence," a quasi-biographical social commentary of late 19th early 20th century mores and expectations.

In this fine novel, "The Razor's Edge," Larry, a young veteral of WWI, destined to financial "success" decides to go on the route to--pardon the cliche--"enlightenment." The woman who loves him, Izzy, cannot stomach that and marries Gray Maturin, Larry's buddy who'se ... Read More:

VHS : Kafka
"KAFKA" is one of those movies that was both negelected by the audience and the critics, and very unjustifiably so. What's exactly wrong with this picture? Is it because a lot of Very Heavy-Thinking Bookreaders claim that the real Franz Kafka is untouchable, and so: not-filmable, and there for, when this is done anyway, it must be condemned even before one single frame is actually seen?

But this is not about Mr. Real Kafka, it's about Mr. Fictitious Kafka, even one without Franz as a first name. ... Read More:

VHS : Eureka
It's taken a long time to be released, but at last 'Eureka' is available on DVD. There are no extras, except for the trailer, which is a shame.

To my knowledge, this 1983 film has been screened only very rarely on terrestrial TV -- just once in the UK, for example, in the late 1980s on BBC2. At the time, viewers were given a great intro to the film -- i.e. how it was loosely based on true story, and how it had existed in several versions etc etc. Because of that, I've always felt this was a British ... This must be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. I actually resented the time I lost forever watching and waiting for something to happen that would instill meaning to this film. It never happened.

Just a long, drawn-out film about selfish and mean-spirited people you can't care about - even when they are murdered. Blaaah!

9.Public Enemies starring: Leah Best, Chip Heller, Theresa Russell, Richard Eden, Tom Ward
directed by: Mark L. Lester

I was really shocked at this movie. I really expected an almost "B" film. Was shocked at how well the plot was, and the dialect was superp. This film is well worth watching, and be careful, you might find yourself watching it a second time. I know I did.

10.Easy Wheels starring: Paul Le Mat, Eileen Davidson, Marjorie Bransfield, Jon Menick, Barry Livingston
directed by: David O'Malley

I CONFESS. THE TITLE OF THIS REVIEW IS INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING. iT REFERS TO THE SAM RAIMI/BRUCE CAMPBELL CONNECTION TO THE FILM AND NOT ANY POSSIBLE ZOMBIEFIED BIKERS. SORRY. WE WILL NOW RESUME OUR NORMALLY SCHEDULED REVIEW.

"His name was Bruce, and only the day before he and his men the Bourne Losers had been riding that desolate ribbon of highway through the Arizona desert searching vainly for the answers to existential questions about Life, Death, and Draft Beer. That was when Bruce first felt a rift in the ... Read More:
