| I had not seen this movie in well over 30 years but remembered loving it as a small child. I recently bought it for my 4 yr old son. He absolutely loves it and asks for it repeatedly. I find all of the content acceptable and age appropriate for him. |

| This weird and wacky combination of THE SHINING meets DAS BOOT features
a rusted old Nazi torture vessel that goes around sinking luxury liners and then picking up the survivors to kill them and live off their life force. | Please note that I'm commenting only on the film itself, not the various VHS tapes which carry it. The best picture quality I've encountered is on the Anchor Bay two-movie, two DVD disc set which also includes The Queen of Spades film. The Anchor Bay DVD transfer shows some age but is in good overall shape.

| I have never read the book, and all I know of the story is what I saw in this movie. I don't think the story was developed very well. There was little dialogue and little to show that Anna was interested in Vronsky until all of sudden she's crazy about him. It's surprising also when she says his love for her has faded and thinks he is going to marry someone else -- We hadn't really seen anything to lead us to that conclusion.
