VHS : Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Commemorative 30th Anniversary Edition)
I had not seen this movie in well over 30 years but remembered loving it as a small child. I recently bought it for my 4 yr old son. He absolutely loves it and asks for it repeatedly. I find all of the content acceptable and age appropriate for him.

VHS : Death Ship
This weird and wacky combination of THE SHINING meets DAS BOOT features
a rusted old Nazi torture vessel that goes around sinking luxury liners and then picking up the survivors to kill them and live off their life force.
Has some rotting corpses on deck and blood but few kills and a cast better suited for Love Boat then Death Ship...Still not awful and much better then
Ghost Ship 1 and half stars.
~~~BLOOD~~~BOTH EXCITING AND NEW~~~~COME ABOARD~~~THEY WILL BE HACKING YOU~
VHS : Dead of Night
Please note that I'm commenting only on the film itself, not the various VHS tapes which carry it. The best picture quality I've encountered is on the Anchor Bay two-movie, two DVD disc set which also includes The Queen of Spades film. The Anchor Bay DVD transfer shows some age but is in good overall shape.
Dead of Night remains, sixty years after it was made at Ealing Studios, one of the creepiest and most intelligent of supernatural films. No, it doesn't have creaking coffins, or pale hands ... Read More:
VHS : Anna Karenina
I have never read the book, and all I know of the story is what I saw in this movie. I don't think the story was developed very well. There was little dialogue and little to show that Anna was interested in Vronsky until all of sudden she's crazy about him. It's surprising also when she says his love for her has faded and thinks he is going to marry someone else -- We hadn't really seen anything to lead us to that conclusion. So the end is especially tragic because watching this movie you can't even tell if ... Read More:
I bought this thinking these were the full length movies. It's not. It's just a review of great movies from the 60s. Not all that great.
