VHS : If Looks Could Kill
I remember seeing this movie when it originally came out in the cinemas - and I came out with a smile on my face. Its one of those silly but really enjoyable teen movies that were so popular in the 1980s (eg Ferris Buller's Day off or Real Genius) that aren't made any more.

This is still I think the best Bond parody movie I've seen - given how much else that has come out on DVD over the years I'm still amazed that this isn't available anywhere in the DVD format. If you run across an old tape (and ... Read More:

I like Paul Hogan movies. They are uplifting with just the right amount of humor. This one is especially good, especially the part where Cuba Gooding Jr. is asked to suck the snake bite out of Paul's rear. The look on Cuba's face was priceless.

VHS : Lisztomania
I had wanted to see "Lisztomania" since first reading about it in the brilliant "Golden Turkey Awards" in 1980. True to its reputation, Roger Daltrey plays Franz Liszt in a highly stylized (major understatement) manner as an oversexed rock star, singing his way from one predicament to another and making an arch enemy of Richard Wagner, who exists solely to subjugate the world to Nazi Germany, and who is a vampire on the side. I appreciated that Wagner's hat said "Nietzsche," which made his philosophy somewhat evident early ... Read More:

VHS : Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert
THE REASON WHY CERTAIN PERFORMANCES WERE CUT (GNR, METALLICA, EXTREME, DEF LEAOPARD TO NAME A FEW) WERE DUE TO COPYRIGHT ISSUES FOR PUTING THE CONCERT ON DVD...IF YOU ARE A TRUE QUEEN FAN THIS DVD IS FINE BUT FOR THOSE WHO WANT THE CONCERT IN ITS ENTIRTY WILL HAVE TO SETTLE FOR THE VHS AT THIS TIME....WHO KNOWS WHEN THEY'LL RE-ISSUE THE DVD...MAYBE THEY WILL ON BLU-RAY ONE DAY, BUT FOR NOW IT'S ALL WE GOT AT THE MOMENT...

VHS : Tommy
It would be difficult to overestimate the impact TOMMY had when hit movie screens in 1975, and if you were alive at the time you knew of the movie, knew of the stars, and very likely heard some of the music--whether you wanted to or not. It was ubiquitious; it was inevitable; it was also very exciting. But time, as one rock and roller once noted, was waiting in the wings. Seen today, TOMMY is less of a success than we thought it was at the time, a mixed bag of music, singers, and imagery, some of it very successful and some of it ... Read More:

VHS : Queen - Champions of the World
It's hard to do justice to one of the most popular bands of the 1970's in only 2 hours but they've done a wonderful job producing and editing the history of Queen. It features interviews with Brian May, Roger Taylor, John Deacon and even Freddie Mercury. The documentary is divided into different segments, including Queen's years before they formed. Smile was a band Brian and Roger were in with Tim Staffel (where the song "Doing Alright" was written) and Freddie had released a few singles under the psuedonymn Larry Lurex. There's a special ... VHS : Dracula - The Dark Prince
It is no wonder why they used the same actor to portray dracula in the buffy series. this film is by far the best dracula film out there. IT only leaves you wishing there was more vampire myth at the end.
