VHS : If Looks Could Kill
I remember seeing this movie when it originally came out in the cinemas - and I came out with a smile on my face. Its one of those silly but really enjoyable teen movies that were so popular in the 1980s (eg Ferris Buller's Day off or Real Genius) that aren't made any more.

This is still I think the best Bond parody movie I've seen - given how much else that has come out on DVD over the years I'm still amazed that this isn't available anywhere in the DVD format. If you run across an ... Read More:

VHS : Playing for Time
I read about this film in Vanessa Redgrave's fascinating biography (which I highly recommend). Her performance in this role is stunning, and as always with truly great art, the script, the directing, and the acting never get sentimental. This is a realistic look at the confusion, disorientation, and tough choices that take place when human beings find themselves in horrific situations outside of their control, yet despite these conditions, the film leaves us a glimmer of hope by showing that even in ... VHS : Deceived
Goldie Hawn shows a new and even better side of her acting skils in this suspence drama, and she doesn't even have to rely on her beautiful long legs to hold the audience's attention. This is an intense thriller with many turns of events which is highly recommended as good entertainment.

VHS : City of Angels
WOW! Such a powerful movie! It is by FAR one of the best movies p.e.r.i.o.d. The chemistry was amazing, not to mention the acting, but of course when you have two phenomenal actors as Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan, your bound to have an excellent movie. City of Angels is no exception!
Cage plays Seth who is an angel that comes to collect the dieing, Ryan plays Maggie a heart surgeon...without telling you all the good parts Seth shows himself to Maggie and he ends up trading immortality to be with her. ... Read More:

VHS : Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves (Walt Disney Pictures Presents)
I know that the first movie in this series is the classic, but if you ask me, the Real classic is this one. The storyline, the morals, the special affects, and the humor are all 100% better than the previous movies. Also, this movie is alot like "Home Alone" if you like "Home Alone", you will like this movie, too! It is very funny and also has a few loving morals. My favorite part is when the kids are doing all the things they were told not to do becuse they are home alone...(or think they are!!)
Every movie ... Read More:

VHS : Dangerous Minds
I haven't seen Dangerous Minds for ages, apart from bits on TV on holiday, which I wasn't really paying attention to at the time. When I found it on DVD for cheap, I bought it.

As soon as I put this DVD on, and it started up, I remembered all the characters instantly. I even remembered what happened in the movie.

But really, there's nothing new here that hasn't been done a thousand times before, and better. The story is pretty generic, and is almost a direct copy of what happens in Sister Act 2. Even ... Read More:

VHS : Sophie's Choice
Meryl Streep delivers one of, if not her best performances in any film I have seen her in. If you are a student of film, you must see this. If you are a fan of film, you must see this. If you are neither, you still must see this. The story is not for the faint of heart, it's a very intense subject matter that will have your mind doing cartwheels. Every performance I see is compared to Streep's performance in this film, leaving me walking away from the theatre saying "well, it was good, but it was no Sophie's Choice." See this ... Read More:

VHS : Lean on Me
This movie is full of inspiration! I really liked the no nonsense, "take no prisoners" approach Joe Clark had to getting his school back into shape. What makes THIS movie superior to "Stand and Deliver" is that there's actually drama in this one. It shows just how tough inner city schools can be.

In these types of schools, the biggest problem is generally NOT whether or not they can pass a Calculus test... it's whether they can survive long enough to make it to the end of the school day!

In "Stand and Deliver" ... Read More:
