1.Home Alone starring: Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, Roberts Blossom
directed by: Chris Columbus
December 07, 1992
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Home Alone
The plot in "Home Alone" is clearly improbable, but that doesn't detract one whit from the appeal of impish (but sometimes adult far-beyond his years) Macaulay Culkin, bumbling Joe Pesci, and the rest of the cast. And, like Aesop's Fables, the film has a moral and a heartwarming tone. It's just not possible to dislike this film.

2.Resurrection starring: Ellen Burstyn, Sam Shepard, Richard Farnsworth, Roberts Blossom, Clifford David
directed by: Daniel Petrie
January 01, 1998

It is sad that this movie can't be released on DVD? When movies that are absolute waste of time and money are being released daily. I love this movie, it had me threw the whole picture.
To bad it will be seen by so few. Waiting for someone in Hollywood to wake up!

3.The Great Gatsby starring: Robert Redford, Mia Farrow, Bruce Dern, Karen Black, Scott Wilson
directed by: Jack Clayton

VHS : The Great Gatsby
Perhaps some classics cannot be made into movies. THE GREAT GATSBY, which makes anybody's list of the great American novels, may just be one. Having just seen this film again for the first time since its release, I think I need to reread the novel. The chief flaw of the movie is the casting of Mia Farrow as Daisy Buchanan. While she certainly can act and become hysterical at the smell of a room full of roses, it is difficult to understand the power that she holds on Gatsby. While Redford makes an adequate if not outstanding ... Read More:

4.Close Encounters of the Third Kind (The Collector's Edition) starring: Richard Dreyfuss, François Truffaut, Teri Garr, Melinda Dillon, Bob Balaban
directed by: Steven Spielberg

VHS : Close Encounters of the Third Kind (The Collector's Edition)
One thing it might mean is that this is one of the most unique science fiction films ever made. I recently watched it with my wife (who very rarely enjoys any kind of sci-fi), a friend, and that friend's wife (who simply detests all sci-fi). Yet everyone enjoyed it. (My friend and I had already seen it.)

"This means something," is a recurring line throughout CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND, similar to "I've got a bad feeling about this," in the STAR WARS films. So, the dialogue is not the best ever written. But ... Read More:

5.Reuben, Reuben starring: Tom Conti, Kelly McGillis, Roberts Blossom, Cynthia Harris, E. Katherine Kerr
directed by: Robert Ellis Miller
1991
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Reuben, Reuben
This is a great, great movie. Tom Conti is superb. Kelly McGillis is perfectly cast too. A gem of a story. I don't understand why this classic is not available on DVD.

6.Candy Mountain starring: Kevin J. O'Connor, Harris Yulin, Tom Waits, Bulle Ogier, Roberts Blossom
directed by: Robert Frank, Rudy Wurlitzer
September 01, 1994
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Candy Mountain
"Candy Mountain" is a fine film by the great Robert Frank
that combines a minor coming of age theme with a road trip in search
of the elusive and great hermit builder of the world's best electric
guitars. This mythic figure, one Elmore Silk, has moved to rural Cape
Breton and disappeared with his fame and guitars, leaving nothing
behind him. Kevin O'Connor plays the innocent and affectless loser
who takes to the road from NYC, moving steadily north pursuing Elmore
Silk and hoping to return to NYC with ... Read More:

7.Citizens Band starring: Paul Le Mat, Candy Clark, Bruce McGill, Roberts Blossom, Charles Napier
directed by: Jonathan Demme
November 11, 1998
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Citizens Band
Another rumination on the importance of and difficulties in communicating with the people who are closest to you. For which CB radio was the perfect medium in the 1970s. Paul Lemat is earnest to the point of being irritating. Candy Clark is pile of confusion and lust. You have to love them.

8.Hospital starring: George C. Scott, Diana Rigg, Barnard Hughes, Richard Dysart, Stephen Elliott
directed by: Arthur Hiller
March 02, 1994
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Hospital
I'm a big G C Scott fan. He was so good at both comedy & drama. I was surprised to come across a movie he'd made that I'd never heard a word about. But, this was released in the early 70's when I was tot so it was a pleasant surprise to find this one listed on Amazon. If you love your a puzzler & don't mind mixing in comedy you'll enjoy this one. There is a mystery here but for the most part the funnier lines stick out in the film. Classic Scott performance. There are murders going on in the hospital while the staff seems to be falling ... Read More:

9.Last Temptation of Christ starring: Willem Dafoe, Harvey Keitel, Barbara Hershey, Paul Greco, Steve Shill
directed by: Martin Scorsese
March 01, 1992
Average Rating: out of 5 stars
>>More Details
VHS : Last Temptation of Christ
The Last Temptation of Christ is not quite a weird movie. If you're expecting profound blasphemy and other good stuff, this is actually tame like a punk that bought all their outfit at Hot Topic. For one thing, the movie dares show Jesus might have had a different mind than most people, one prone to breakdown that might lead him to imagine he's God. But there's not much point to showing this side since he is also shown performing every miracle. There's no dispute in the film to his superhuman status, which makes the fact that this film was so controversial ... Read More:

10.Slaughterhouse Five starring: Michael Sacks, Ron Leibman, Eugene Roche, Sharon Gans, Valerie Perrine
directed by: George Roy Hill
July 07, 1998
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Slaughterhouse Five
First off, I've never read the book. That said, I must say that what I find most intriguing about the Billy Pilgrim character (Michael Sacks) in SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE is how much of a true pilgrim he is. He is unhitched from time, while simultaneously, due to his own pleasant personality and ever-calm demeanor, Billy is also a traveler through space. He drifts through life as a disengaged observer, like a cork floating down a stream. Billy is a warm, innocent human being who is utterly removed from his own existence! He watches / feels things unfold like a character ... Read More:
