VHS : The Changeling
This is a truly scary movie, in the old fashioned sense. That is to say, it makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up without the gut-wrenching gore that seems to permeate the newer installments of the horror genre.

George C. Scott and then-wife Trish Van Devere both do credit to their roles and Vancouver does a great job in its role of Seattle as well.

Loved this movie and plan to watch it every Hallowe'en.

This is, by far, one of the best movies. The story is moving, and will have you in tears multiple times. Tom truelly shines, and is one of the few actors that you no longer see as a person, but as their character. Very emersed. This will also question your thoughts and beliefs, and possibly make you reconsider the next time youre about to make a snap judgement.

3.Postman starring: Todd Allen, Scott Bairstow, Annie Costner, Charles Esten, Shawn Hatosy

VHS : Postman
This is one of the most underrated movies of all time. The Postman is not just your average post-apocalyptic scenario. It is a deeply emotional and philosophical film about the power of hope. What I love about this movie is that it shows how something very simple-- mail-- can become a symbol for everything that makes us human and for everything that makes us American. Yes, its a little long, and yes, the ending requires a slight suspension of disbelief. But the movie is good enough that you wont notice the length, ... Read More:

VHS : A Touch of the Poet (Broadway Theatre Archive)
What a shame that this production didn't have a director who knew anything about style, because "A Touch of the Poet" is the only remaining complete play of his planned play cycle "A Tale of Possessors, Self-Dispossessed" which, if it had been completed, would have stood along side the great works of Shakespeare. To direct "A Touch of the Poet," a director has to know where it stands in the cycle. Then and only then can one begin to see the force of this play. What this production has done is to minimalize the play into ... Read More:

Wounderful!
I`ve seen it today on TV, and I love it.It is such a lovely, lively and romantic story.
Perfect for cold winter mornigs!;)
Beeing twelve years old could be hard, but to have such selfish parents who don't care about their kids this must be horrible. It is a good movie for kids and older one's, because it shows so much of life of a teenager, whose parents are splited. And Jamie( Jeremy L.) is such a sweet guy, that as a girl you can't swich off.

6.Dead Man Walking (1995) starring: Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, Robert Prosky, Raymond J. Barry, R. Lee Ermey

VHS : Dead Man Walking (1995)
It's super easy to tell the Robbins/Sarandon mindset on the issue of capital punishment by watching this movie. While it is well made and engaging, they chose to tell the story in a way which leaves little doubt about their feelings on the issue. That's not a bad thing, but it took some of the impact out of it for me, by overtly dramaticizing certain scenes, particularly the drawn out climax. It just took it to a politicized ending for me , rather than a singularly compelling one. That aside, Sarandon and Penn both performed well, ... Read More:

...or "Whoa, Momma! Is this some perverse fun."

I was compelled to stop to watch this primarily because it's got two of my favorite bad girl actresses Gina (Showgirls/Bound) Gershon and Sheryl Lee in it, but to my greatest surprise, it turns out to be a Jim Thompson Noir, with cynical guy voice overs and the "each scene is a painted cover of a pulp magazine" type of cinematography. Billy Zane plays a drifting journalist whose relationships with everyone seems a bit unhinged, to say the least, and in his mind's eye maybe he becomes the ... Read More:

VHS : 1989 Thornton Wilder's Our Town
Our Town is by far my all-time favorite drama to teach to my 9th grade English "Honors" classes every year. But what really makes it for my students is this 16 year old video of the 1989 PBS performance, a performance I would call a 'masterpiece.' Spalding Gray's rendering of the Stage Manager is right on the money; his delievery is not too casual and not too fast. Like an unforgettable wine-tasting experience, Spalding compels his audience to swish Wilder's words around inside the mind and soul, to resonate deeply there and to feel what Wilder ultimately ... Glad I Finally Got Around To Viewing This
I had known of this film for a long time but did not realize it was a musical, nor that it was so entertaining. Most of the music was done in short segments and the songs were decent. None were excellent, but none were awful, either.

Popeye was fun to hear. Robin Williams had the famous sailor's mumbling down to a tee. I suggest you watch this with the English subtitles on so you can get all of what Popeye says, or you'll miss a lot of funny lines. The same can almost be said of Shelly Duvall's impersonation ... Read More:
