| i just saw this movie early this morning i was able to see only 75 to 80 percent of it because i was still in bed very tired but when i saw legendary actor paul newman in it i decided to give it a shot paul newman was good as harry keach in it he was serious but yet adding a little bit of comedy acting he plays a strict father who was very tough on his son and wanted him to grow up by being able to take care of himself he lost his wife in the life and had a difficult time continuing with the rest ... | I had the good fortune of being an extra in this movie, and I went to school with Bobbie Gentry's two sisters, knew her grandparents and have met Bobbie on more than one occasion. The song was fiction, as was the movie. It was not a true story as many people have said. It's a haunting movie, with good performances, especially Robby. I was looking through customer reviews for my old favorite Disney films, and I saw all of the unfavorable reviews for this title. This follow-up to the classic Disney film is just as fun and magical as the original. Enchanting songs and the same characters, plus a few new ones, make this a classic for kids and adults alike. Wonderful. |

| I see alot of ppl reviewing like this is the 1985 special with just a new case. It's not I've seen this remake on television. It's been aired on Disney Channel I believe. They took the original book and the concept from Rankin-Bass' puppet adaption and just used tradition animation to remake the exact same film. I don't like how they remade alot of the characters and the original will always by far be the best because Rankin/Bass were and are cutting edge in my mind. |
