VHS : Bond: View to a Kill
People who rave about this movie, it makes me wonder .. have you ever seen a Bond before (Particularly the early ones with Sean Connery and the Moore films LALD, TPWLM, FYEO & OP). This is a bad film no ifs ands or buts. Period. The plot is warmed over GOLDFINGER with Christopher Walken over the top as an East German superman experiment out of control as Max Zorin. Grace Jones bizaare as May Day, Tanya Roberts totally unbelievable as Stacy Sutton, geologist. The opening has Bond in the artic ... Read More:

Two emotionally wounded people find love through a dominant/submissive relationship. Maggie Gyllenhahl is great, as usual. Warning: although the domination scenes aren't that heavy, some people could find them offensive. But I'm not into BDSM myself and still liked the movie a lot.

The chick in the movie did exactly what the cover says "She hunts to mate, she mates to kill." Adult scenes were great. I just wished there were a few more scenes of that girl. Oh well.

VHS : Kindred the Embraced - The Complete Vampire Collection
Oringinally I watched and taped the program as originally aired on T.V. because I was already interested in all things mystical. I found that I really enjoyed the show. Very disappointed when it was cancelled after only eight episodes. When it came out on video I bought it and finally now own the dvd collection.

I kept hoping that they would ressurrect the show, until I read that Mark Frankel had died. I loved his portrayal as Julian Luna and I had thought that he along with Channon Roe (Cash) were hot.

VHS : Music Teacher
From its opening moments when the baritone Jose van Damm delivers a wonderful last public performance in his role as the hero of this movie ("The Music Teacher"), to its climactic vocal competition and sad ending as the Music Teacher leaves the world to Mahler's "In my Love, In my song," this beautiful and unique movie will captivate anyone who loves vocal music and the life of the artist.

This really is a movie about love and music and the triumph of the artistic spirit. The musical choices throughout the movie blend harmoniously ... Read More:

VHS : New Age
This is still one of the sharpest dark comedies around about LA and failed yuppie dreams I have ever seen. Makes everything Steve Martin attempts to be as lame AS THEY ARE. Infinitely quotable lines: "Money isn't money! Money is a representation of something else!" Peter Weller and Judy Davis were pitch perfect. The NEW AGE trappings that abound in the movie are not just scattershot- there is a flirtation with BDSM, there is alternative cures for Cancer, there is applied and mis-applied Taoist and Buddhist philosophy and there is real satire on the Consumerist ... Like another reviewer said, let's face facts, a lot of vampire films are either dull, weird, or downright dumb. Dull and a little stupidity makes this vampire film what it is.
It looked like an interesting vampire film at the video rental place. It looked a lot better than some of the other vampire films there. And though the movie I don't hate, I found extremely boring. Hardly anything happened. Most of the time they just talked and snarled at each other and these young ones were just dumb fledglings that are weak and destructive. Hardly as refined and secretive as the ... Read More:

VHS : Acting on Impulse
It was a Sunday afternoon, wine was in hand, the TV had been warmed with a second viewing of "After Dark, My Sweet", when it was decided to watch the made-for-TV movie (which didn't seem like it was really made for TV) "Acting on Impulse". There was the anticipation of falling asleep, laughing at the poorly developed budget, realizing that after watching these guys - anyone could be actors, or just the plain synthesizing music score that made the late 80s/early 90s possible, yet horribly embarrassing. There was an aura of negativity as this film opened, but to much surprise, this ... Read More:
