VHS : Jerusalem
Selma Lagerlöf, the first female Nobel prize winner in literature, is known in Sweden for her extraordinary storytelling gifts. Her novel Jerusalem uses as its historical background the Pietist movement of the early 19th century. This movement can be seen as the beginning of the breakdown of the state church system in Sweden, for it allowed for the possibility that the common man (not woman at this time) could be filled with divine wisdom and vision -- that this was no longer the provenance of clergymen alone. The ramifications of this movement ... Read More:

VHS : Look Who's Talking
Most people give PULP FICTION the title of John Travolta's comeback. During the early to mid 80's, John Travolta was less than an A-List celebrity. The movie LOOK WHO'S TALKING was his comeback to the spotlight. This movie catapulted him back to bigger and better things. He went on to do blockbuster films like PULP FICTION, GET SHORTY, BE COOL, among others.

About the movie, it spawned 2 sequels that were great also. And Bruce Willis's delivery was flawless. I can't imagine Mikey sounding any other way. The opening scene of the movie, ... Read More:

9.Dad starring: Jack Lemmon, Ted Danson, Olympia Dukakis, Kathy Baker, Kevin Spacey
directed by: Gary David Goldberg
March 01, 1992
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Dad
Ted Danson is pretty good as a business exec who becomes very attached to his father, played by Jack Lemmon. Lemmon himself is also not bad as the aging father, but the movie itself is full of contrived scenes that are supposed to be heartwarming, but come across as predictable and sometimes ludicrous. Also, I was rather displeased with Lemmon's makeup, which doesn't seem very realistic (I can't believe it was nominated for an Oscar!).

10.Sisters starring: Margot Kidder, Jennifer Salt, Charles Durning, William Finley, Lisle Wilson
directed by: Brian De Palma

VHS : Sisters
This is a great film! Although the acting is a bit rough for a few characters I found myself drawn into the story line. We have Danielle Breton (Margot Kidder) has a one-night stand with a black TV-game show player. The morning after, he is killed by Danielle's psycho twin sister, Dominique Blanchion. But Grace Collier (Jennifer Salt), an aspiring journalist, sees everything from her flat across the street. Things get even uglier when the journalist starts following Danielle and his strange ex-husband, Dr. Emil Breton (De Palma perennial weirdo Bill Finley). What ... Read More:
