Thanks to the blog, I purchased my DVD from Joesclassicmovies.com. Otherwise I would still be waiting to Paramount or whomever to release it! My DVD works just fine and it was lovely to see the film again after it's initial release. Thank you all! |

| I never felt myself really irritated by having to sit through a film, until I watched this.
Too much "action-packed". Too "over the top". I found my thoughts drifting to how much wasted energy on the part of thew actors. and what a waste of special effects. The "hilarious" ending where Glenn Close is being made into a cake was so far fetched and so long. I thought this film would never end. It's silly and ridiculous and seems to last an eternity. | Entertaining and fun with the spice of life. Moll Flanders adventures are captured with wonderful camera work, excellent casting and non-stop adventure. A great addition to "Tipping The Velvet" and "Finger Smith". |

| Not quite what I was expecting, but it's a cute movie. Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility get 5 stars in my book. But this is a good movie too.

| The Duke is a very cute movie that features a live bloodhound and basset hound. Children (and adults) who are dog lovers will enjoy this movie. The story is a little predictable with a happy ending, but that's the way it should be with a movie so adorable! I highly recommend giving The Duke a turn in your DVD player. |

| Classic comedy indeed,starring John Cleese,Jamie Lee Curtis,Michael Palin,and Kevin Kline in a Oscar winning role!!! This great 2-DVD set has a great transfer of the film and a fishbowl(pun intended)of great extras that this classic comedy deserves,it blows the original DVD release out of the water(again pun inteneded)!!! | It is always impossible to adapt a play to the screen without making some changes- and that was also true in this case. To which the only proper response is to say- so what? Did they keep the spirit and main ideas? Is it largely the same story? And in the case of any Oscar Wilde play- did they keep as much of the language, the dialogue and the wit as was possible?
