| After seeing Olivier's version of Hamlet, I was interested in seeing this version of Hamlet. Admittedly, Mel Gibson was one-hundred percent of my impulse to see this film. I don't usually follow actors when choosing movies; I trust directors more than I trust actors in choosing movies. But Mel Gibson is an exception to this rule: when was the last time the man made a bad movie?-- I can't even think of one.

| This is one of the best Old testaments movies I have seen yet and I have seen many. It is true to the Bible and very exciting.
Old Testament history is hard to keep straight as so very much happens but this film will burn this time of Saul and David and his son Solomon in your mind and heart not to be forgotten. | I cannot tell a lie. I thought this series was not as good as UXB, but I am partial to Judy Geeson. I did expect the inaccuracy of the planes being flown, but not the pristine landing strips/meadows. I guess that I really missed the realism of the stressful situations that seemed to be somewhat missing here. I can only surmise that the writers were from another era with no oversight by older experienced professionals who might have given more insight into the acting roles. | I had read the book several times. I was a bit disappointed that Simon the best friend's history was not treated in the show and also Bridie the little girl of the fiancee of the deceased was hardly shown at all. The rest of the production was quite good. |
