VHS : Key Largo
The fourth & final pairing of Bogey & Bacall is a real treat. Also, it's another pairing for Bogey & Eddie G. but this time Bogey got the top billing. This Bogey & Bacall pairing doesn't smolder on screen like the earlier efforts though one would have to be blind not to see anything.

The story mostly takes place at the Largo Hotel on Key Largo. The proprietor is James Temple (Lionel Barrymore) who's been confined to a wheelchair for reasons not specified. He's assisted ... Read More:

VHS : Northern Pursuit
In 1943's NORTHERN PURSUIT Canadian Mountie Errol Flynn tracks downed Nazi pilot Col. von Keller (Helmut Dantine) across Canada to prevent his secret sabotage mission from coming to fruition. The premise of the story, by screenwriters Frank Gruber and Alvah Bessie, is good but director Raoul Walsh isn't able to generate much energy until the actual pursuit begins. Julie Bishop is a rather weak female costar while Helmut Dantine is good at what he does best in his role as Nazi von Keller. However, Errol ... Read More:

VHS : Never Say Goodbye
This is one of the most unforgetable films I have ever watched and I love classic films. I first saw this about 20 years ago and have been searching to purchase it ever since. Unfortunatly I thought the mother was played by Ingrid Bergman which is why it took so long to find it. Hope to have a copy soon. This is a must for anyone who enjoys the classics.

VHS : Lives of Bengal Lancer
The title of this 1935 Hollywood Raj classic was actually taken from the memoire book of Francis Yeats-Brown a British journalist that described his military life as a Lancer in Bengal but also many other military experiences, together with his love and discovery of Indian religion. Like in Gunga Din, the title is there to sound "familiar" and entice the spectators of those times.
A classical product of the Hollywood Raj, this movie is not as well known as Gunga Din and Beau Geste, but it still has a particular ... Read More:

Star Flynn and director Walsh worked together on two previous movies namely Gentleman Jim and They Died With Their Boots On.This was to be their final collaboration and it lacks the mythologising power of its predecessors but it still remains a solid Western of its era.
