It's been a while since I last saw this film and I remember liking it a lot! The DVD has gone out of print(OOP) and it's a shame that so many people will miss seeing this interesting and gritty film. Rourke gives a memorable perfomance in this tale of booze and should-a", "would-a","could a's". I would have to see it again before I could give it an honest rating, but it is certainly worth a new DVD release. "I could have beaten him if I had eaten a sandwich!" Please re-release this film on DVD!

I have had this movie on VHS for some years now and of course the quality is getting worse and worse!
I wonder why this movie never got the credit it should have gotten.
I love the story, I love the acting, I love the look of the film, I love the plot and it truly deserves to be release on DVD!
DON'T LET THIS MOVIE BE LOST FOREVER!
(but I also don't want to buy this movie over and over on VHS because of the fading quality of the tape!)

VHS : Thursday
I rented Thursday about a decade ago and was blown away by the performance of Thomas Jane. His charismatic portrayal of a very bad man gone domesticated was mesmerizing and watching him try to uphold his perfect suburban life while his past comes back to haunt him is hoot to watch. When he finally cracks and the raw emotion of his situation boils over, its a scene that still resonates. The cast is rounded out by a collection of interesting character actors including Mickey Rourke, Aaron Eckhart & ... Read More:

4.Wild Orchid starring: Mickey Rourke, Jacqueline Bisset, Carré Otis, Assumpta Serna, Bruce Greenwood
directed by: Zalman King
October 20, 1993
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Wild Orchid
This is Mickey Rourke's typical sleaze bag role. The film isn't even accomplished enough to be considered soft porn. Zalman King should have abandoned his efforts in mainstream filmmaking and gone straight into the adult industry. He probably would have had more fun and would have saved us from such complete crap.

5.Body Heat starring: William Hurt, Kathleen Turner, Richard Crenna, Ted Danson, J.A. Preston

I love this movie, the music, the sounds of the voices, the one liners,
the story. I don't normally watch movies over but I have watched this over and over, the story is amazing. 1981 when I first fell in love with
William Hurt.

6.Angel Heart (Unrated) starring: Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, Lisa Bonet, Charlotte Rampling, Stocker Fontelieu
directed by: Alan Parker
December 07, 1992
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Angel Heart (Unrated)
Based on a great novel by William Hjortsberg (Fallen angel).
Great actors.
Great director.
One of the best crime films (with a touch of occultism) I've seen.

7.Rainmaker starring: Matt Damon, Danny DeVito, Claire Danes, Jon Voight, Mary Kay Place
directed by: Francis Ford Coppola

I enjoy any of John Grisham's books about the underdog fighting high corporations and winning. I usually read the book first and then compare it to the movie. The movie stays with the plot of the book well and the acting is well done. I like the fact that the actors that usually portray the characters in the books are big name actors with a lot of experience in their craft. Their performances are stellar which makes the film even more fun to watch. Even though I have seen this several times I wanted to added to my collection ... Read More:

VHS : Pope of Greenwich Village
This movie is a classic and well worth owning. I try to watch this movie at least once a year because I love it so much. If for nothing else, watch this movie to see Mickey Rourke as a young actor who had all the looks any guy could hope for. The acting of Rourke and Eric Roberts is great and they do a great job connecting in this movie. I thought that Daryl Hannah was the worst in this movie, but she doesn't really matter too much. This is a story about the two main characters, their loyalty to each other and trying to get ahead ... Read More:

If you really don't care if a movie makes any sense, and you prefer graphic violence to good acting...then this may be the DVD for you !!! Otherwise it is a complete piece of trash.

Opening scene: A prison bus full of the slimiest, most degenerate criminals in all of Texas (and that is saying a lot) is "rescued" by a gang of murderous henchmen with rockets and anti-tank weapons. Law enforcement officers are butchered and blown to pieces....the prisoners then travel to a Fort Worth shopping mall and take it over, slashing, ... Read More:

10.Last Outlaw starring: Mickey Rourke, Dermot Mulroney, Ted Levine, John C. McGinley, Steve Buscemi

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Last Outlaw
The Last Outlaw is a must-see for Rourke, Buscemi and Mulroney fans. They all play the perfect outlaws, cold-hearted yet very sensitive. This post-civil war TV western works very well from beggining to end. Great script, art direction, acting and pacing. A relentless chase in the middle of nowhere which will keep you wondering what's going to happen next.
