| The next time you need a film that totally enthralls you, see Les Diaboliques. I had heard so much about this movie that when I finally found it, I watched it immediately. I was nervous from all the hype (as well as from seeing the "remake" with Sharon Stone and Chazz Palminteri, I know it is poor). But seeing this 1955 masterpiece, I am reassured.

| Claude Sautet's greatest film was his highly acclaimed Un Coeur en Hiver ( A Heart in Winter ), for which he won the César Award for Best Director in 1993. Three years later, he won the César again for his 1995 film, Nelly et Monsieur Arnaud. Both films starred Emmanuelle Béart. Sautet died of cancer in 2000.

| I did love la cage aux folles 1 & 2 and my only regret is that the nr3 is not available in dvd as I really like it since 1986... But I'm french and if you don't speak French, subtitles may not be as enjoyable as the words because this is really a very funny film! |

| Claude Miller directed Mortelle randonnée with Michel Serrault and a young Isabelle Adjani. Serrault is Beauvoir, a private eye, who mourns the death of his daughter in 1962 (an important date). Isabelle Adjani is a serial killer, born in 1962, who ritually searches for her "father" among rich strangers and then murders him (them). | Do not buy this 2 pack if you want the original French edition. This one is dubbed into English and was very disappointing for me to watch. The original French edition is supposedly coming out in March. So much of the flavor of this movie is lost with the dubbing. |

| I took note of "Get Out Your Hankerchiefs" because it won the Oscar for Best Foreign-Language Film" in 1978. I did enjoy it but I had a reaction similar to the one I got from "Murmers of the Heart". "Murmers" pushed the envelope even farther than "Get Out Your Hankerchiefs" did but this comedy does eventually evolve into something that many will not see the humor in.
