VHS : Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too
One of my goals it to help families not by films that they already have. If someone had the DVD A Very Merry Poor Year, it contains this story of Pooh and Friends trying to get their wish list to Santa Claus before Christmas. Pooh and Piglet find the letter did not make it too Santa, so they try to give everyone their wished for gift. Of course everyone does not understand why Santa would give them gifts that are not really what they wished for. Pooh is reveled as Santa and explains how sorry he ... Read More:

In the original "Batman" & "Batman Returns," the storylines (or what shreds there were) were overwhelmed by the comic-book schtick left over from the wonderful 1960's "Batman" series. The schtick was fine for the series, but for the films...AUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. GOOD GRIEF! In "Batman Forever," Akiva Goldsman took over the screenwriting duties and the schtick was eliminated, giving way to a firmly grounded storyline. The same with its excellent follow-up "Batman & Robin" (which I fail ... Read More:

Wonderful addition to the Winnie-the-Pooh family! I purchased this along with Winnie the Pooh - Seasons of Giving, and the new Disney show My Friends Tigger & Pooh - Super Sleuth Christmas Movie and am glad I did! This full length feature follows both perfectly as the gang counts down to New Year's recalling favorite memories. My 2-year-old daughter loves this and the others so much, she requests them each day and I'm happy to have her watch them! It is just good old fashioned fun that brings back my own memories ... It's Jolly Olde England, Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon are on the throne, and royal marriages are made to strengthen political ties. Henry wants to cement an alliance with France by marrying his sister Mary to the aged King Louis XII, even though the spunky, flirtatious Mary has set her cap on Charles Brandon, a commoner. Henry prevails, of course, after promising that should Louis die, Mary can then wed anyone of her choosing. As luck would have it, Louis dies a mere two months later, she marries Brandon, and they ... Read More:

This obviously Tim Burton movie shows that Batman is the best from the flashy effects, dark settings, and eye-captivating plot, puts Batman Returns on one of the best ... Read More:

With familiar friends like Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger, this Winnie the Pooh video looked like a sure hit. Videos like Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too are charming, wonderful stories for all ages. Unfortunately, this Winnie the Pooh product is a videotape of lame stories. When reaching for comedy, the writers fail. When teaching a lesson, they either miss the mark or come off as heavy handed.

This is not from an original A. A. Milne story, as are the original Winnie the Pooh videos. The three ... Read More:

VHS : Batman (1989)
Keaton and Basinger are very bland, and some new guy named Knoxx is all over the place and Gordon ain't in much. And the Joker upstages Batman. But the dark feel would rub off on many comic-book adaptions, and the big success would lead to more superhero films. (For better or worse.) And Jack Nicholson is very good, amd the set and score are amazing. Worth a rent.

HOW does Rob Lowe look exACTly the same as he did 20some years ago? Check out one of the sexier BratPacker movies, and tell me you don't play "spot-the-earlier-work-of-bigger-stars..." Cute boy-meets-girl/fish-outta-water/redemptive-loner/look-how-much-we-learned,-aren't-we-noble? mash-ups. A better-than-most example of cheesetastic 80's mindcandy. Which is a GOOD thing! Watch as part of a Sixteen Candles/Ferris Bueller...Breakfast Club/Oxford Blues Double Feature Weekend and tell me you don't sink back to a lighter, easier place. 80's Rule, lol!

The various blanket infringements on the rights of American citizens and others since the criminal events of 9/11 hardly represent the first time that the American government has seen fit to curtail those rights. The Palmer Raids roundup of reds, radicals and foreigners in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution at the tail end of World War I comes to mind. As done the subject of this film, the red scare against communist and other labor radicals after World War II with the onset of the Cold War against the Soviet Union, a former ally.
