| This is the same edition that came out in 2004; it does not contain any new features. I looked on Criterion's website, and apparently the only thing "new" about this edition is the lower retail price. Still a great movie, so if you don't own it yet, now you can get it for less money. Very cool feature-length making-of documentary included. |

| This film is very close to the nerve centers of practically all Marines because it so very realistically depicts their experiences in either boot camp and/or Vietnam. There isn't one that didn't feel a mysterious tingle in the back of his neck and a shiver down his spine when he first heard Lee Ermy calling cadence in the boot camp segment of the movie. Nuf said about the film except to say that the video and audio transfer to blu-ray is outstanding. The anamorphic treatment that allows it to fit 16X9 TVs is excellent. ... Read More: |

| It seemed like a good idea at the time. Fix-up an old Victorian home in a fashionable San Francisco neighborhood, rent out some of the rooms to help pay the mortgage, and keep the best part of the house for yourselves. | I have seen some of the other movies from the Bible collection like Joseph and Esther and they seemed to try to stay fairly close to the biblical account. This movie on the other hand was constantly irritating for anyone that is familiar with the real story of Jacob. Several parts were way off and even ridiculous. For one, as soon as Jacob meets Rachel he immediately kisses her passionately on the lips and she takes off running away and Jacob chases after her and comes to Laban's house. | I saw this move years ago on a premium movie channel. At the time I recall thinking that I would love to see it on a large screen. Fast forward to 2008, I have a 52" big screen. I ordered this DVD.

| I watched the episode several times and had taped it off the TV.The cast was fine but Diana Rigg's character was not evil enough.And Aisling O'Sulivan's character should had been made more of a victim of her mother's acts in the story.Matthew Modine was great but he could had been given a better script.I did like Diana Rigg in her performance in Mother Love and Aisling O'Sullivan in the Wyvern Mystery.Both of the stories kept me glued to the TV.I still give this episode a passing grade but the studio should had done more to make it better. |
