| I loved this movie. Edith Evans is wonderful in it. The plot is low-key but just sit back and marvel at Evans. She dominates the screen with a very powerful performance. The supporting cast is equally fine. Bryan Forbes did a great job of directing and adapting the novel that the movie was based on. Evans really should have won the Best Actress Oscar for this movie. She was robbed. |

| For Us the Living, a movie that recently sneaked onto video after airing on national T.V. The story of Medgar Evers, a civil rights leader from the early to mid sixties who was murdered by the Klu Klux Klan. This movie tells us first hand how Medgar, took on racist politicians and came home to be a loving husband. Played beautifully by Holling Rollins, and the gifted Irene Cara. It is on my shelf right there by Malcolm X. |

| whoever thought that the ending of this movie was close to appropriate needs to think about the story. The BEST part of this book was when Aaron and Mary finally get together and he gets to claim his daughter. | "Slaughter Hotel" has one basic flaw that prevents it from being worth your time; it is boring. The story is one familiar to giallo fans. A masked killer is stalking and murdering scantily clad or unclothed women. The main problem with this is that there is lots of boring dialogue for the first half hour and when the killing starts, it is without style or graphic violence. | The only reason to watch this movie is to enjoy the looks of Helmut Berger. He's 26 years old at the time, and after seeing him in many Visconti's films, it's interesting to watch how he performs here. Obviously, without a great director, the movie did not realy happen - Dorian's girlfiend is being played poorly, for example. This movie is rather a curiosity, but Berger is at the pick of his beauty. |
