VHS : To Sir, with Love
2.5 stars. Poitier is Poitier. I'm starting to believe his whole charm was that he looked good in sixties-styled clothing. But as far as having any depth I've only seen a glimmer of it in A raisin in the sun. The rest, well, they all seem like the same character. Really, there's no difference between this performance and that of A patch of Blue or Guess who's coming to Dinner. Plus if this was the depth of problems in the late sixties then truly it was a generation of spoiled brats. I just ... Read More:

VHS : Streetwise
Although this video was shot some time ago, by the famed photographer Mary Ellen Mark, the conditions are as applicable now as they were back when it was made some years ago. This video "Streetwise" portays the life of several street kids in Seattle: "Tiny", the prostitute, who can't be any more than about 13 or 14; "Rat" who goes dumpster-diving for food; and Roberta Josephine (Bobbie Jo) who was eventually strangled to death by Gary Ridgway, the "Green River Killer", active in Seattle at that time and ... I regret that I missed "Love Actually" at the theater. I'm so glad that I bought the DVD, because it has become one of my favorite movies, and certainly one that I see at least once during the holidays every year. I never tire of it. The music and characters are full, real, and wonderful. It's not all laughs, but it's life affirming.

As charming as it is, "Love Actually" is strictly an ADULT movie, not family fare. It wouldn't be the unique movie it is without the adult scenes and language, but be ... Read More:

VHS : The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
I really hope that this movie is put into dvd form soon. I think this was Dennis Quaid's first movie or was it Caveman? Anyway he is really talented and I always liked Kristy McNichol since the show "Family", which also starred James Broderick (Matthew's father). She has the charm of a little waif and who could forget Mark Hamil from Star Wars fame. Please bring this movie out soon.

5.Reckless Kelly starring: Anthony Ackroyd, Theresa Bell, Andrew Bilgore, Adam Bowen, Russell Cheek
February 07, 1995
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Reckless Kelly
Reckless Kelly is pretty much on par with Young Einstein, although a bit more juvenile in places. I really liked both of these films and I think it is important to remember that these were independently made and not just churned out by a studio. Yes the humor is puerile and juvenile for the most part, yes the story doesn't make a lot of sense if you look at it too closely. However, as a just for fun film it can be entertaining. Reasons to like this film? Eye candy. Cute animals. Random sound effects. Fun music. There are also some ... Read More:

this home video came out in 1993. it was sold over television and print ads and it quickly reached Double-Platinum status. to be accurate, double-platinum for a home video requires sales of 200,000 copies or more (300,000 copies for Triple-Platinum, etc.) however, CDs and cassettes need a whopping 2,000,000 in sales to reach double-platinum, etc. with that in mind, Ray sold a ton of home videos in between 1992 and 1995. the RIAA reported that Ray's video sales were somewhere around 3,000,000...which is A LOT when you're dealing with the ... 7.Brass Bottle starring: Tony Randall, Burl Ives, Barbara Eden, Kamala Devi, Edward Andrews
directed by: Harry Keller

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Brass Bottle
Burl Ives is a riot in this film. It's funny, hilareous and full of camp. It's a great laugh and reminds us all of a gentler time. Burl Ives as Fakrash ala Mash, a Genie of the Green Gin, get Tony Randall into so much trouble you just can't stop laughing. It's great to which him turn the father in law into a mule. In the end, you can see the moral of the story and it's really a great light hearted film.

I am giving the movie 4 stars because It is one of the movies I remember from my childhood that really left an impact on my views about animals and humanity. As a child, soaking in every little bit of this movie really made me feel a lot more attached to animals and more intuitive to the fact that every creature on this earth has feelings and emotions, regardless of if they can't express them like humans do.

Project X is one of the few movies that I also can't get myself to watch again to this day. It always makes me cry. I ... Read More:
