| I go to movies for entertainment, and unless the movie has been touted as a 100%, bona fide accurate portrayal of the subject, then I have no problem if facts are embellished. This is Ridley Scott's vision of Christopher Columbus and his quest for the New World, and he has artistic license to create his vision and in my opinion did so magnificently with this film. | This is one of the most down to earth romantic movies I have ever seen. Who would not love to be the object of Lloyd Dobbler's affection. I can see this movie over and over again and never tire of it. John is an incredible actor and is so real, it stings at times. |

| Yes, this movie is cute if not completely unrealistic, improbable and beyond predictable. I liked it, but I have to be realistic when I say that this is not a great movie. The acting is subpar (MacLaine really should have been in more of the film) and the script is very generic. There are all your usual plot twists and developments, the characters are very unoriginal and the ending is as far fetched as they come.

| Okay, so we all know that "Batman and Robin" is not only the worst Batman film ever made, but one of the worst movies in general. But imagine if the creators took "Batman vs. Mr. Freeze: Subzero" and put it as the basis for "Batman and Robin." It would've been a spectacular film! But hey, it's now the past, and I've got "Subzero" to enjoy.

| Well, at least it grows on me. I like Philip Ridley's movies because they usually feature Viggo Mortensen, along with the kind of imagery that my brain produces on its own when it's feeling creative. Go into one of his films, and you're where the id and its lawless hankerings define the world and tell the story. You can best savor The Passion of Darkly Noon if you don't allow yourself to go all left-brained and analytical, because this is not a narrative wedded to factuality, and its psychological realism is selective.

| Ever see a movie that takes you so far that you actually see the characters as someone really talking in front of you? Will Smith, Lisa Bonet and Tom Sizemore (amongst the others), are acting too hard. They weren't convincing enough to make me feel like they were real characters. Again, the action was great. But the acting was contrived and predictable. |
