VHS : Romeo + Juliet (1996)
I general like Shakespeare to be done in the time it was written for. However, I enjoy anything that Leonardo DiCaprio or Clair Dane does and totally enjoy this film eventhough it has been brought up to date. I give it four stars only because of this.

2.Titanic starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Jason Barry, Kathy Bates, Nicholas Cascone

This was a great movie to see in the theater, which is not a typical thing for me to say, and so it is even better in your own home (although the 61" telly helps), where you can pause it and get up to go to the loo. But it was every bit as amazing and moving and incredible to watch. And even though I knew the end of the film, I was still on the edge of my seat as the ship went to her watery grave. An amazing experience for all ages!

3.What's Eating Gilbert Grape starring: Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Juliette Lewis, Mary Steenburgen, Darlene Cates
directed by: Lasse Hallström

VHS : What's Eating Gilbert Grape
Leonardo Dicaprio's performance as an autistic teenager was absolutely superb. Johnny Depp's performance as a quiet, depressed and angst-ridden older brother was good as well, although he's more fun to look at than anything.:) The movie is very moving, and unlike anything I've seen. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to people of all ages.

Amazon had the dvd that I was looking for and at a very low price. The delivery was fast and the dvd was in excellent condition. I would order from Amazon again.

VHS : Quick & The Dead
Action movies are only as good as their villains. Heroics require really nasty bad guys.

Gene Hackman skillfully portrays an antagonist so mean you know he'd kill his own son. Sharon Stone, for the most part, credibly plays the protagonist, but her motivation for revenge seems filched from Harmonica in Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West.

The remaining cast of bad guys are cartoonish and the plot stretches credulity beyond the limits, but fine acting and a unique premise work ... Read More:

VHS : Total Eclipse
Having recently viewed this picture and having read some of the customer reviews, I think it wise to limit my remarks to personal reactions, past and present. With all of World History before them, just why are DiCaprio and Thewlis signing on to portray a duet like Arthur Rimbaud and Paul Verlaine in the first place? After doing some terrific work in "The Basketball Diaries" and "Gilbert Grape", why the need of a 20 year old budding star venturing into dangerous waters such as these? Why should Verlaine ... VHS : Basketball Diaries
Shortly before he died of a drug overdose River Phoenix was asked what he was going to do next. He took a dog eared copy of The Basketball Diaries out of his pocket and said he wanted to play Jim Carroll. The Basketball Diaries project did get made, except with Leonardo DiCaprio instead of Phoenix. At the risk of being typecast River was set to follow that by playing the poet Arthur Rimbaud in Total Eclipse. DiCaprio picked up that role as well. The Basketball Diaries turned out pretty well for Leo, and was also a good break for Mark ... Read More:

I like this show and all, but every time John Malkovich has a line I cringe. I don't know who cast him for this role. He can't act. I would laugh as he talks, but I really want to like the movie.

9.Gangs Of New York starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Jim Broadbent, Daniel Day-Lewis, Cameron Diaz, Brendan Gleeson

The movie is GREAT, the way it was shot, the camera work, the exceptional action, the story-lines, everything! The masterful story developing when it goes through waves to culmination is mesmerizing.
I can't speak about this work otherwise as in superlative terms and it is why it had 10 academy nominations.
The story is incredibly deep, the dialogs are unbelievably smart and trough to life. In every shot, angle, camera movement, music there is so much of cool, artistic interpretation and sophistication. My humble description ... Read More:
