| This is one of my all-time favorite films. The color and dancing are spectacular but I think he most interesting and intelligent aspect of he film is the confusion of reality with unreality; life with an opera. The film, which starts on a concrete level becomes more and more surreal as Gades slips into a form of madness--a madness, perhaps, fated by the Gods.

| After years of searching at long last, found.This is indeed a most inspiring look into the heart of the magic of the flamenco tradition. Saura is a genius with his staging of this most penetrating deeply Spanish music and dance. The passion held me tight in its grip. The sincerity with which this is portrayed is breath taking. Anyone interested in real music and dance and the power that it can exhude must have a copy of this DVD. |

| This movie relates the story of an English gangster who turns on his partners and sells them out and moves to Spain. Ten years later men come looking for him and the movie relates the three days when he is kidnapped and pleading for his life while on a rollicking ride around Spain. The cast is essentially four people and the movie is made up of brilliant dialouge, John Hurt and Terence Stamp are brilliant. Director Stephen Frears has created a masterpiece.

| I didn't expect much ahead of time from this film, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's one of those goofy comedies with ridiculous plot twists that still ends up being fun. It's about a civil guard (policeman) who gets caught in a women's hotel room at a ski resort and ends up dressing like a woman to pass as her friend. This leads to all sorts of wacky missteps and silly situations. Juanjo Puigcorbe is pretty good at physical comedy. The mayor of the town is a momma's boy with an overbearing mom, and he falls for the ... Read More: |
