VHS : Stuart Saves His Family
There are about ten laughs in this film by smarmfart Al Franken. Worth seeing once.

But Franken's brilliant creation is Stuart himself.

Full disclosure: I loath Franken's politics and most of his other humour, but this work is a brilliant exception.

Stuart Saves his family is an overlong extension of a SNL skit about "Stuart" the over twelve-stepped psychological casualty of our continuously self-indulgent selves. Rather than overcome his traumas, Stuart nurses ... Read More:

VHS : Pretty Woman
One of those movies you watch every time it comes on television because it's so cute, yet one of those movies you're almost ashamed to adore because it has almost no redemptive features; `Pretty Woman' has become an instant classic for almost no reasons at all. Sure, it's cute, but so aren't a lot more respectable films.

Oh yeah, I forgot; Julia Roberts is amazing here.

So, that answers all questions doesn't it? Why do we love this movie? We love it because it gave us Julia, ... Read More:

VHS : Once Around
The script is excellent. The acting is great. The characters are strong. And the plotting, for a family drama, is certainly good. But the ending here is a REAL downer. If you don't mind such a bummer ending, this is a really worthwhile film.

The first two-thirds of it are superb. It's not that the last third is bad; not at all. It's just that in the last third real tragedy strikes and yes, we all know that's real because that's what life can do. But don't expect this movie to make you feel good ... Read More:

4.Quigley Down Under starring: Tom Selleck, Laura San Giacomo, Alan Rickman, Chris Haywood, Ron Haddrick

VHS : Quigley Down Under
If you are a Tom Selleck fan you can't go wrong with this Western classic. Tom portrays Matthew Quigley, a dignified gunslinger who has grown weary of his sharpshooter reputation. While the plot is fairly simple it is rewarding to see Quigley do the right thing without a second thought. Such a charismatic role for Selleck. A good film for the entire family, as long as the kids are over 9 or 10.

This movie was released when I was a teen myself and I have a copy of it now. It is one of the few movies I carry with me for life. It is amazing. You almost feel like you are one the characters.
I identified with the starvation, drug addiction, and normal rejection that every teenager goes through, homeless or not.
Don't miss it.

I really enjoyed this movie. My husband had wanted to buy this DVD for a while, but couldn't find it. The product was delivered before we expected it to be.

VHS : With Friends Like These
How far will friends go to get that "big break" in Hollywood? If you're a wanna-be Sopranos star, the news of Martin Scorcese casting for the leads in an Al Capone film is too good to be true. This amusing film skillfully manuevers the lies and deception that four friends pull on each other as each jockey's for that coveted interview... incredible casting, including quite a few surprise "star" bits, keeps the film fresh, lively and on target.
