| This movie is, by far, one of my favorite movies of all time. It was so well written, directed and has some of the best actors (i.e. Robert Sean Leonard-Dr. Wilson himself!). Moving score as well. I hate to say this but it was because of this movie that I became interested in poetry. And I saw this at the movies when it came out in 1989. I was 20. I hadn't known what I was missing not reading poetry. Better late than never! Watch this movie, open your mind and you'll be pleasantly surprised! Peace. |

| A longtime runner, myself, who'd forgotten about this rising star in the runner's world, can testify to "Prefontaine" being the best athlete bio-pic of recent memory that surprises, informs and inspires in the best sense of the word.You'll lace up the running shoes after this film. The script was generous to all the supporting people who nurture greatness in the form of Steve Prefontaine. | Of course the end song is fantastic "staying alive", Bee Gees' best song.
The movie has a simple yet realistic story. It flows easily. It's a lot of fun. I don't agree with the values it exposes but they may not be unrealistic. I recommend it if you like a fun, light, and uninsalting-to-your-intelligence-by-having-a-dumb-story movie. Travolta was made for the role and his acting was great. |

| THis is one of Nicole Kidman's earlier movies that is just fun to watch. Unfortuately the fun is loosely based on a true story. But still a good movie to watch. |

| 1/2 Riddick because a husband and wife are sentenced to a prison 30 or so stories below surface (for having more than one kid). 1/2 Demolition Man becase of the "big brother" like atmosphere and the lame acting. I know, it sounds great! How could this movie not be a blockbuster? Well, Chris Lambert isn't exactly a great actor. This movie isn't exactly good. And, oh yeah, the plot sucks!
