| The War Wagon was a hit when it was first released and is still a great film today. John Wayne and Kirk Douglas have just enough tension to really wonder if they will end up shooting each other or doing the hold up. Excellent addition to any family home film library. |

| A classic tale, not as good as i remember it to be as a child but still good clean entertainment for the the whole family, better than commercial TV has to offer. |

| To each his own. I like movies about early American life which makes an attempt to show life as it was then. The story is interesting but not overly believable concerning the Indian girl being the daughter of an Indian chief ... but you get the feel of life as it was then. We must remember, without some story of interest, who would buy the video. I had seen this on TCM and wanted my own copy to give to my grandchildren. |

| 'Lonely are the Brave' was the film that Kirk Douglas, himself, regards as his favorite. No, it's not a big Hollywood flash like 'Spartacus' but it is the subtle and tragic rendention of a time and life style already gone. | This is one of my favorite movies. Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas are in thier prime, both sexy and studley. If they really had ministers like Lancaster, I'd never miss church. The story, adapted from a play is a bit stagey, but it's very enjoyable. I liked the black and white photography as well. The best part of this picture is Lawrence Olivier as General Burgoyne. | I saw this film as a jr. high schooler and thought it was great. It still is! Director Richard Fleischer and Kirk Douglas were a great combo (also another of my favorites, Disney's "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". The picture quality is superb showing off the beautiful Norweigian fjords and the DVD has a very comprehensive 'making of' bonus feature. |
