VHS : The Initiation of Sarah
Yes, The Initiation of Sarah was inspired by Carrie -- but it also surpasses Carrie. For unlike Carrie, The Initiation of Sarah was a TV-movie, hence subject to budgetary and censorial restraints. But it overcame these restraints, even turning them to its advantage by emphasizing story and acting and atmosphere over shocks and gore. It's my personal favorite horror TV-movie, better than the oft-cited and rightly praised The Night Stalker.

The Initiation of Sarah tells a common tale: ... Read More:

VHS : Fast Walking
One of those little films that is a great watch. Woods best acting and an interesting cast and storyline. Ironic that so many medicore films are released on dvds and yet, gems such as films like this are ignored.

I will await its dvd release.

VHS : Stripped To Kill
With the right attitude, this is a terrfic movie starring the absolutely lovely Kay Lenz. If you liked her in "Breezy", you'll like her just as much in this campy romp.

A maniac is killing strippers at a club..and the strippers won't talk to the cops. There is only one answer. The beauteous Detective Cody has to go undercover. Her partner talks her into entering an amateur contest. The winner,as measured by an applause meter, get a full-time job. She nervously does so, and then says to her partner, ... Read More:

VHS : The Great Scout and Cathouse Thursday
I purchased this video for the lovely and talented Kay Lenz, and found the funny story to be a plus. The movie has a wacky, drive-in feel, and to ride along is a lot of fun. Lee Marvin is very funny and holds the story together as he and Oliver Reed's characters try to claim their share of a gold strike from a crooked politician.

The surprise hit of the film is Reed, who plays Native American, "Joe Knox". Reed rarely goes overboard in the film, and is truly hilarious at times. Kay Lenz is a sweetheart as ... Read More:

VHS : Prisoners of the Lost Universe
"Prisoners of the Lost Universe" is a mid-80's fantasy piece that is so ludicrous that it's funny. I debated long and hard about what rating to give it, but finally settled on three stars as the unintentionally amusing moments are both mirthful and plentiful.

The film starts with an annoying television science reporter, Carrie Madison (Kay Lenz), hosting her weekly show "The Weird and the Wacky." In this introductory segment you see her go face to face with a hooded cobra. Due to some minor musical exposure the cobra ... Read More:
