| Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn's chemistry keep this predictable, but likable comedy afloat. Hawn plays a rich selfish snob who's life needs purpose and Russell plays a blue collar guy who gives her life purpose. After a run in that leaves Russell stiffed for a job he does for Hawn, Russell finds a way to get paid and then some! | The reviewer is right who stated the mainstream doesn't get Gilliam. Bottom line is people will still be talking about this movie 100 years from now when most of the Academy pop favs will be forgotten. I thought I had to clarify what is actually happening and why Depp is in LV to begin with.

| Terry Gilliam's unique satire is as funny as it is absurd and dark. With the character of Sam Lowry he created the perfect anti-hero, not in the least thanks to the brilliant performance by Jonathan Pryce.

| The last ever Hitchcock film is a good movie, but lacks the cutting edge that his best movies always have. Contrary to some reviews I have read I thought the cast were fine and William Devane, Karen Black and Bruce Dern have all done many other interesting films. No doubt that Al Pacino would have been better though!
The main problem with the film is that is never really decides what it wants to be. There's some light black comedy and a bit of suspense but nothing really ever grabs you like his best films. The ... Read More: |
