| LOVED IT: OHH FOR THE FADING DAYS OF DISCO. BYE BYE CLUB 21. NEW YORK IN GENERAL HAS NOT REALLY CHANGED. THEY JUST DRESS DIFFERENTLY NOW, AND GO TO DIFFERENT CLUB'S AND YOU HEAR DIFFERENT MUSIC. THE DOULBE STANDARD FOR MEN AND WOMEN HAVING SEX IS STILL IN PLACE. NOT MUCH IS CHANGED. I THOUGHT THAT ALOT OF WHAT I SAW ON THE DVD WAS EXACTLY THE WAY IT HAPPENED WHEN I GREW UP. | I think, to a certain degree, comparison with Douglas McGrath's 1996 movie featuring Gwyneth Paltrow is inevitable. However, I must alert my reader to the fact that - when I praise this alternate version from Diarmuid Lawrence - I do so with the original novel in mind. This mini-series has not a movie's glamour, nor does Kate Beckinsale match Paltrow in beauty. However, with regards to Jane Austen's beloved work, this is undoubtedly the more faithful adaptation. | Underworld (Unrated) [Blu-ray] This is definitely on of the best movies combining Vampires and Werewolves. The special effects are excellent and Kate Beckingsale is excellent as the lead. I enjoyed and own both movies on Blu-Ray. And yes, the action is great and so is the mood of both films. I am waiting for a third in the series.. |

| I think this adaptation of "Much Ado About Nothing," I think is one of Shakespeare's best comedies, is a great film. It can function as a sort of introductory bit of Shakespeare, because this play mostly consists of characters exchanging witty banter, and the actors (Keanu Reeves very much aside) brought such life to the already hilarious words. | I have to agree with the negative reviewers here, I have not read the book but books are always better than movies period. I hate these english actors that are cast as Americans, Beckinsale and Bale are the two prime examples but there are many more.
The acting was universally bad here as well, Nolte seems very wooden in particular but Beckinsale is not far behind, the only decent acting was by Uma Thurman.
