VHS : Follow the Sun: The Ben Hogan Story
Being a golfer and a fan of the sport for many years, I was very interested in seeing this, which I did when the VHS first came out. Later, I saw it again because of the same reason plus I usually find Glenn Ford's films entertaining.

Well, the story moves well, it didn't bore me, but I did have problems with the accuracy of it and the general theme of the film, telling us that Hogan really was a nice guy who cared lot about what the public thought. From every account I have read, and ... Read More:

VHS : Return to Salem's Lot
If your a fan of 80's B-Movies like myself, this one is a must-have in your collection. While this doesn't compare to the original Salem's Lot, there is still entertaining humor to be had in this one. Most will rate this film terrible, but as the title of my review goes, it's only for the campy B-Movie collector only. too bad it's not officially on DVD....

3.Hello Frisco Hello starring: Alice Faye, John Payne, Jack Oakie, Lynn Bari, Laird Cregar

VHS : Hello Frisco Hello
I remember seeing this movie in the 40's when musicals were the top draws. How I wish they still made movies like this. Alice Faye and John Payne were wonderful stars & their singing of "Hello, Frisco, Hello" & "You'll Never Know" brought back wonderful memories. All the other musical acts & songs were great & the actors of that era, Jack Oakie, June Havoc, Lynn Bari & the others made for a most pleasant 99 minutes of movie viewing. I'm so glad it finally has been put on DVD.

VHS : Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover (Amazon.com Exclusive)
This movie is informative with fiction added. The suspense of the movie is portrayed by the facts presented. It's the closest thing to what is likely the truth about J.Edgar Hoover's life you'll find---especially given the onslaught of one-sided written and movie attacks on one (Hoover) who gave a great deal more than most to the country he loved. While many did their best to destroy Hoover's reputation in the aftermath of his death, here,Broderick Crawford portrays Hoover as a great American but human--with his own ... Read More:

Billie Burke has just lost her fortune on the eve of her daughter's marriage. Son-in-law Dennis O'Keefe is convinced his financeer father, Adolphe Menjou, can get it back. The problem--Menjou is more of a con man living off a dole from his opera-star wife. Script is weak, but has its moments. I especially like Billie Burke practicing her double-takes. This movie, while a pleasant comedy, is not up to O'Keefe's inspired roles in the original Brewster's Millions and Up in Mabel's Room.

VHS : Gentleman's Agreement
Do you, as do I, have to fight an urge to run for cover when the term "message movie" crops up? Not to worry, because in this case GENTLEMAN'S AGREEMENT (1947) is a fine movie with a great cast, excellent pacing, and just enough wit and verve to highlight its headon treatment of post-World War Two anti-semitism.

Gregory Peck plays Philip Green, writer for a NEWSWEEK-type weekly magazine, who sells himself on the subject of anti-semitism and goes semi-underground as "Philip Greenberg," a Jewish American who ... Read More:
