VHS : Stalin (1992)
A true characterization of a truly pathetic individual. Historically, Stalin & Hitler were no more than two lost souls, losers in every way, that found a home in subjective, reactive rhetorical organizations.

Stalin used his power to turn his delusions into reality, and untold
horrors for the Russian people. This movie accurately portrays the
beast and his place in history.

VHS : Pretty Woman
One of those movies you watch every time it comes on television because it's so cute, yet one of those movies you're almost ashamed to adore because it has almost no redemptive features; `Pretty Woman' has become an instant classic for almost no reasons at all. Sure, it's cute, but so aren't a lot more respectable films.

Oh yeah, I forgot; Julia Roberts is amazing here.

So, that answers all questions doesn't it? Why do we love this movie? We love it because it gave us Julia, our ... Read More:

It has been a while since I have seen this film and I am little surprised that it seems to be out of print. I recommend this to anyone who wants to see a story of faith in action in the face of overwhelming odds.

5.Year of the Comet starring: Penelope Ann Miller, Tim Daly, Louis Jourdan, Art Malik, Ian Richardson
directed by: Peter Yates

VHS : Year of the Comet
This movie has gotten some unnecessarily bad press. It's basically a Cinderella story with wine. The performances are excellent and the Louis Jourdan subplot is clever. This is a straightforward romantic comedy with some international adventure elements. The script is by the great William Goldman. I've seen it again and again. It's sweet and endearing and the wine information is accurate. Check it out. You have nothing to lose and you probably have a wine-loving friend or two who will find it fun.

This lovely-to-look-at and amazing-to-listen-to film was a major departure from the typical angsty Allen film....and because of that, it's unappreciated....Amazingly, it's unavailable on DVD...I hope that changes soon!

7.Hazel-A Double Holiday Dose of starring: Shirley Booth, Bobby Buntrock, Don DeFore, Whitney Blake, Maudie Prickett

This great two-story video celebrates humanity and humor in the heartwarming and embraceable persona of Hazel, the loveable and irrepressable housekeeper. One episode in black and white celebrates Missy's great affection for her housekeeper. And one episode in color demonstrates the metamorphisis of a dissatisfied husband/boss into a happy fellow ready to celebrate with the family. Great for the season, but great to watch anytime you're feeling blue or short on humanity.

VHS : Love Me If You Dare (Sub)
The excellent short story "A Perfect Day for Bananafish" by J.D. Salinger goes on one page too long. So, when I reread it. . .and I do. . .I quit the story with Sybil and Seymour coming ashore from their afternoon swim. It is true Seymour--it is his fate as the most gifted poet in the Glass family--must die. But not here.

Likewise, "Love Me If You Dare (Are You Game?)" should end sooner. And, when I watch it again. . .and I plan to because, for a while it is a great movie: charming and moving at the beginning, ... Read More:

This film has a real power to it, and presents a major historical figure in a way that is easy to appreciate. The acting and directing is superb and the film is very engrossing, and in some places extremely sad. I'd strongly recommend this.

I enjoy true story movies, and I thought Julia Roberts does an excellent job portraying Erin Brocavich, as well as the great supporting cast with her. Kept my interest and was very compelling.
