| Having seen this gem in college, in a cinematography class, I will never forget it. Possibly one of Voigt's best ever. Compare this character to the part he played in "Enemy of the State" and you'll be amazed at the spectrum of his acting skills. The only thing BAD about this movie is the administrator character who is an evil person. I think he was played by Hume Cronyn. But his performance, too, is outstanding. | I enjoy any of John Grisham's books about the underdog fighting high corporations and winning. I usually read the book first and then compare it to the movie. The movie stays with the plot of the book well and the acting is well done. I like the fact that the actors that usually portray the characters in the books are big name actors with a lot of experience in their craft. | I read this book often with my students. It's extremelely well written and engaging for children. When the movie first came out, I cautioned my students that they may be disappointed in the way the book has been translated to the big screen. Much to my surprise, the movie is great! |

| I saw this many years ago and found it on sale recently. It is a superb movie, one of the best! The scenery is breath-taking, the plot rivoting, acting is top notch, and has a startling ending. There is also some rough language from the prisoners in the jail and the escaped convicts which I could have lived without, but it is realistically done.
Two prisoners escape from a maximum security prison and hop on board a train whose engineer dies, leaving the train as a runaway with nobody on board able to stop it. Jon Voight turns in a tour de force performance ... Read More: |
