| I've read a couple of reviews that downgraded this film as being unrealistic. Of, course only the most sensational aspects of the war are portrayed. Duh, it's a movie. I wasn't over there. The war mercifully ended weeks before I would have been. I do have numerous friends who were. Many will not really talk about it (just like my dad who served 4 years in WWII and saw heavy action. | This was not the original version. It was a nice movie and the copy was decent but it was missing too many scenes. It was like when you go to the movies to see a movie and then on dvd it has some scenes cut, and again if you wait a few more years on tv it has more scenes cut and yet then again a few more years on the newest dvd if you didnt buy it the first time around, you would notice even more scenes were missing. | I watched this movie with my parents at Christmas last year and all of us were very disappointed. We were all familiar with the story of the "littlest angel" and hoped that a movie with such a cute kid in it would do the story justice; we never expected the most boring musical of all time. A low quality song and dance routine is given for every single little step the kid takes. There is even literally (and I wish I were joking) a song about nothing. | This is a favorite from my childhood. I saw it in the theatre when it was first released, and I owned the album and the (widescreen) laser disc.
I was so disappointed to see that this was a full frame transfer, and a lousy one at that! One of the biggest thrills of this movie was its wide open vistas of the Mississippi River and the wonderful cinematography. This DVD release from MGM/UA is grainy, dark and at times fuzzy. The sound is terrible too, and it was terrific on the laser disc in 5.1 surround. ... Read More: |

| I love the movie.great adaption of the book.all though they used words from the future.the cave scene was very good.my class&I watched it. johny whiteaker was great.great to watch.my friend austin hates it.THE BREAK UP SCENE WAS...GREAT! but the part I really like was the wite washing scene.well cudos. |

| What a wonderful story this is about two boys and a hunting dog[Wire Haired Pointing Griffon]. The adults get no where with his training but he responds to the children as it should be. I saw this movie many moons ago and declared I wanted this wirey brown haired dog. Just recently I found what the breed was and purchsed one and to my absolute amazement the dog reacts as the movie portrayed him, right down to eating eggs. It's a very moralistic movie for kids and a lot of laughs and a lot of fun to watch. |

| This is a good movie for everyone in the family to enjoy.I loved seeing Michael Douglas and Jodie Foster at such a young age.I think you will enjoy this if you like the older,slower Disney movies.I enjoyed it.I think the older Disney movies were the best. |
