| i give this fine mini-series 4 stars because this one was used to set up the rest of the series but for reasons unknown they stoped after this one.
philip kent is now an old man(and now played by martin millner)and his son's are now the focus of the series. randolph mantooth is quite good as the oldest son who must do things for himself.his trek west with wife and new child is the focus of the first part and we get to see how hard the way really was and leaves us with very powerful images ... | I haven't seen Dangerous Minds for ages, apart from bits on TV on holiday, which I wasn't really paying attention to at the time. When I found it on DVD for cheap, I bought it.
As soon as I put this DVD on, and it started up, I remembered all the characters instantly. I even remembered what happened in the movie. A rich family wants their baby named Bink in the paper. Some thieves steal Bink and hold him for ransom. | The Duke is a very cute movie that features a live bloodhound and basset hound. Children (and adults) who are dog lovers will enjoy this movie. The story is a little predictable with a happy ending, but that's the way it should be with a movie so adorable! I highly recommend giving The Duke a turn in your DVD player. |

| Although Henry Fonda was not as closely identified with Westerns as his buddy, Jimmy Stewart, he did make this one with Anthony Mann who made several of the best of this genre with Stewart (Man from Laramie, Naked Spur, Far Country, Winchester 78)--a low keyed oater where a seasoned ex-sheriff/bounty hunter (Fonda) shows a inexperienced young sheriff (Tony Perkins) how to survive in the Old West.
