This DVD came in great shape. I enjoyed it very much. Great price too!

VHS : Appointment With Death
This is not quite as polished as Evil Under the Sun and Death on the Nile, also with Peter Ustinov. It still has the same kind of star power because Lauren Bacall and Piper Laurie are both in this. The story is also still good and I did enjoy it. But I didn't like it as well as the other two I mentioned and I probably won't watch it again.

VHS : Romance on the Orient Express
This movie took me 10 years to find. I sawit as a teenager and loved it. This story makes you feel happy, sad and full of hope that if you haven't found love you will. No matter what and how much time, love see's through it all. The actors in this movie make you feel what they feel. You understand what both are going through and how much love they have for one another. It's a tear-jerker for sure!

Every aspect of this film is flawless. All period films should use this one as an example of how to bring history to life.

I can't speak much about the plot that hasn't already been discussed to death here and Amazon itself has done a decent job recapping the basics of this story. I'll resort to my simple Hits and Misses on this one:

The HITS:

1. This film is flawlessly acted by all. While Cate Blanchett dominates the screen and well-earned her Oscar nomination that year, ... Read More:

Saw this movie when it first came out ages ago and it always stuck in my mind. I confess that a couple of the main resons it stayed with me was because of the stunning images of the Egyptian countryside and monuments, the equally stunningly gorgeous Frank Langella, and finally, it was a good story about black market buying of ancient artifacts. Erica Bane, played by Lesley-Ann Down, comes to Egypt to prove a hypothosis she has regarding Pharoh Seti the First. There she meets a shop owner, played by Sir John Gielgud, and witnesses ... VHS : The Elephant Man
Rightly regarded as one of the classic British films of the last decades, this broadly true tale of dignified humanity shining through the gloomy, impersonal smog of Victorian London hardly puts a foot wrong. Anthony Hopkins is superb as the dispassionate surgeon who rescues the maltreated circus freak and convincingly settles his own (and our) moral doubt as to whether he has simply replaced the morbid curiosity of the voyeuristic crowds for an equally exploitative scientific curiosity and means of personal gain. But it is John Hurt's ... Read More:

VHS : Prospero's Books
Prospero's Books is nothing less than an almost overwhelming feast of images, stuffed with charms, magic and metaphors. It is Peter Greenaway's vision of what The Tempest might have been had Prospero used those 24 books of great knowledge and magic he took with him when he was sent into exile by his brother. Prospero had been the Duke of Milan when he was overthrown. Twelve years later he inhabits an island with his daughter, Miranda, who was three when they were sent away. There is Caliban, of course, a "freckled whelp, hag-born," but all the other inhabitants ... Read More:

As the next reviewer states, these are recorded in EP mode and the quality suffers, BUT WHAT A COLLECTION! I was especially pleased to see that the 10th tape was Sean O'Casey's Juno and the Paycock. Hitchcock's early films are such a joy: German Expressionism, slapstick comedy, long, long takes that show off the stage sense of the actors and Hitchcock himself, the beginnings of his particular film style, and his deep sense of social justice. If you can afford The Early Years DVD Collection you will get most of the same films, with the exception of The 39 Steps and Juno and the Paycock, ... Read More:

This video obviously looks like a pirated version. Over an hour of the original video tape has been left out. I wouldn't waste my money.
