VHS : Fawlty Towers - The Complete Collection
Like all the Monty Python alumni, John Cleese is talented and funny. From Monty Python (of course) to A Fish Called Wanda, Cleese always just makes me laugh.

And it is not different in Fawlty Towers, where he is at his acerbic and crazy best as the owner of a hotel where circumstances always leads to laughs, and Cleese is surrounded with other actos who do a great job.

Echos of Monty Pythin are here, plus other elements thrown in, so if you are a Python or Cleese Fan you ... Read More:

VHS : Jungle Book (1994)
I haven't read the book, so I don't know how accurate the film is, but I enjoyed this version of "The Jungle Book". It's all about a grown up Mowgli's struggle to fit in with British colonial society, after he is lured out (more or less) by Kitty, a girl he knew as a child before he was lost to the jungle, a girl who just happens to be the local Colonel's daughter. Her boyfriend, a British soldier called William, doesn't like Mowgli at all, but he is however terribly fascinated by the golden dagger Mowgli ... Read More:

VHS : Die Another Day (Special Edition)
Wow. This was cinematic vomit for sure. I saw Quantum of Solace earlier tonight and it was kickarse. Since this was on TV I decided to watch it since there was nothing else... and boy, this movie SUCKED!!!!!! Worst 007 movie ever. There's so many bad things about the movie I'm not even kidding. Such as:

- The Gunbarrel opening scene- stupid bullet and the calypso version of the theme...

- That god-awful Madonna song... Techno and Bond do NOT mix!

- Halle Barry. Wasted actress. She was ... Read More:

If the Muppet Movie receives five stars, there is no way The Great Muppet Caper deserves more then three. It's still worth watching, but can't hold a candle to the Muppet Movie

VHS : Monty Python's The Meaning of Life
The DVD seems to have a big problem with interlacing.
Even when played on a 1080p blue ray up-convertion player on a HD-TV, the picture is terrible.
None the 20+ others DVD I own have this problem.

If you are interested in learning about orangutans, there are a LOT better choices out there. The film is about Julia Roberts's month-long experience with orangutans, as seen by Julia Roberts, who left the comfortable surroundings normally enjoyed by Julia Roberts. Do we really need the montage of Julia leaving NYC, with multiple art-school close-ups/silhouettes? Or so much focus on her Hepburnesque boat making its way up the river?

Still, orangutans being what they are, there is footage to commend this effort. Seeing the orangutan ... Read More:
