Average Rating: out of 5 stars

VHS : Slap Shot
Slap Shot is bottom-of-the-barrel minor league hockey. It's blue collar, living on the edge of desperation, rust belt culture. It's about a marginal business run for purposes irrelevant to sport. It's people miscast in life from hacks who see themselves as pros, to elitists who deign to play with the low-lifes. It's about people screwing up their relationships, about mis-communication and non-communication. It's about how people hurt each other in order to connect with one another. It's crude and ... Read More:

VHS : 13 Going on 30 (Dol Slip)
Jennifer Garner is a luminous actress with true screen presence, but in "13 Going on 30", her charms are put to shallow use and an otherwise perfect performance is wasted due to incompetent screenwriting. Instead of illuminating the script, Garner exists merely to distract audiences away from a tired plot that sees a thirteen-year-old girl named Jenna Rink, who by magic unknown to the audience, waking up to find that seventeen years have gone by and she is now thirty, lives in an apartment of Fifth Avenue, ... VHS : Shriek of Mutilated
SHRIEK OF THE MUTILATED concerns a group of yeti-hunters led by professor Prell. This zero-budget schlocker has it's moments, especially the hilarious breadknife / toaster-in-the-tub sequence, and the "shock" ending! Of course, this mostly looks like someone's home movie, and some things that may have been outrageous 30+ years ago are pretty funny now! I've heard SOTM touted as being in the same league as TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT. Um, no. Still, it is enjoyable enough if you're in the mood for ... Read More:

I am getting tired of seeing the "clone of alien" on every single thing I read about this movie. It does take alot from the Alien film, there is no way to get around that. It does a few things Alien does not, and Alien does ALOT more that this movie doesn't. But the main points, Isolation, beast going through life stages, and a snake alien like creature are really the only things that they have in common. More of a tribute than a rip-off, because the movie was still done very well. Alien is my favorite movie of all time, and this film ... Read More:

I saw this movie many years ago and it was great, just waiting to get it now on dvd, so that i can share it with my family, who have not had the pleasure. This movie really shows you ,that if it seems to good to be true then it probably is.
