| This is a favorite from my childhood. I saw it in the theatre when it was first released, and I owned the album and the (widescreen) laser disc.
I was so disappointed to see that this was a full frame transfer, and a lousy one at that! One of the biggest thrills of this movie was its wide open vistas of the Mississippi River and the wonderful cinematography. This DVD release from MGM/UA is grainy, dark and at times fuzzy. The sound is terrible too, and it was terrific on the laser disc in 5.1 surround. ... Read More: |

| Films buffs will want to know that the Spanish R2 'Mundo Futuro' DVD is missing footage. There are four cuts totaling 2.5 minutes of missing footage:
1. The pre-credit sequence is missing. 2. Some dialoge during the press invite, round table scene. 3. When Peter Fonda explores the remains of Westworld. 4. Dialogue at the very end. Until a better version is released, your best bet is to pick up the R2 UK full frame edition which includes all of the above cuts. |

| Way Out West is generally regarded as Laurel and Hardy's best feature film.Next to Sons Of The Desert.It is the only other L&H film to be a Stan Laurel Production(the other being Our Relations from a year earlier).Definetly one of my favourite L&H films.Not a dull moment in the movie.Rarely do we actually see Stan laugh.Not only is this one of their films where Oliver sings beautifully,but Stan also sings with a cartoonish trick voice.There are a lot of special effects in this movie as well.Such as Stan igniting his thumb,the ... | I've always wanted to buy this dvd, ever since I read the novel and saw the movie on t.v., I've search for this dvd and I found it on amazon.com. It's a good movie, with flawed characters, but despite this he made it, and the amazing dogfight with the other firefox, it just blew my mind away, eastwood is great! |

| Though "Saps at Sea" (1940) looks like a pair of three-reel comedies stuck together, the result is undiluted Laurel and Hardy. This streamlined feature marked Stan and Ollie's last production for Hal Roach, with The Boys making the most out of thin material. Memorable appearances by Jimmy Finlayson, Rychard Cramer and Ben Turpin add to the fun. No classic, but far superior to the team's dispiriting post-Roach efforts. |

| i remember seeing this movie when i was little with a boy that i really liked at the time! So it has memorable value to me. Plus, its just a cute movie. I hear all the time that its corny and cheesy, but i dont care.
