Lone fathers and their kids have been a hit in many movies. I have severl examples, like, Ryan and Tatum O'Neil in Paper Moon, Jon Voight and Ricky Schroeder in the re-make of 'The Champ' and Dustin Hoffman and Justin Henry in Kramer vs Kramer. Gregory Peck, won an Academy Award, for playing a sole parent, and he's never been better. The script for this movie was based upon Harper Lee's sensitive and intelligent novel set in racially-torn Alabama. ... Read More:

This is the story of one "patrol torpedo" boat, expendable forces used to attack the enemy to do the most damage at the lowest cost. The opening scene tells how JFK wrangled a front-line combat position instead of an office job is some safe rear echelon location. There is soon a warm welcome to the front. JFK wanted to learn what they didn't teach at Harvard (like some other wealthy men). An air raid shows that danger is near. Can JFK get his boat in shape in a week? The commander is not a happy man. ... Read More:

Excellent film, thoughtful yet entertaining. Not without flaws, surely, and in light of recent events the setting may obscure the story. And it's a good story, one I sorely wish was available in a widescreen DVD edition.

The story is, in fact, about flaws. Flaws at both ends of the spectrum. Youth explores its newly opened world, trying all of its offerings with abandon, testing its boundries, but at what cost? Age conserves its resources, adheres to the safer paths, braised in its own hindsight ... Read More:

This movie, The Last Unicorn and the Phantom Tollbooth were my favorite movies as a child. Only one is out on DVD. Unfortunately it's not this one. I know the company is making a killing on the last unicorn. This one would very easily match it. If the DVD gods are reading this please, please, please put it out on DVD! I promise to buy at least 3 copies.

Stop living in the 70's. This movie has the Muppet babies in it. That gave birth to the long running cartoon. I guess you guys were too old by then. The first movie was a novelty, the second was not as good as Manhattan. You hippies must have been pretty high watching those first two movies to think that Muppets take manhattan is inferior to those. This movie is big on relationships and you guys just can't relate.

Excellent movie. It's a tie with the first one and better than the second one. Nuff said.

It sure would be nice if this movie were to become available on DVD or
Blu-Ray it it's original theatrical widescreen release. Remastered
sound and picture, if necessary, would be great, too. This is one of
Paul Newman's best films. Looking forward to the day.

Just a great old movie, I wanted to see the performance Bobby Darin got the nomination for best Support, and it sure was a fantastic performance. Tony Curtis was great fun in this movie.
